After finishing this photoshoot and browsing through the camera, the first phrase that popped into my mind was "a story with you." This shoot was a Japanese-style photography theme completed together with my partner. I played Kaguya-hime, and the studio backdrop was decorated with a large number of yellow paper lanterns and cherry blossom trees, instantly maximizing the atmospheric vibe for this studio shooting log.

I originally thought that light and shadow would be hard to control in such a dense lantern scene. However, the lighting technician provided very soft lighting which, combined with the warm yellow ambient light, made the textures of the wig and clothing look exceptionally breathable. The makeup this time leaned toward a translucent daily cyberpunk feel, preserving the gentleness of traditional Japanese style while incorporating small designs around the eyebrows and eyes to make the gaze more agile.

In terms of clothing, we wore modified Japanese-style apparel. The color scheme of the outfit on me is very unique; although it features a wide-sleeve design, the mix-and-match of the belt, fishnets, and boots adds a touch of modernity and a sense of strength to the styling. Especially the white beast ears and the red mark on the forehead, coupled with the contrast of the wig's hair color, make the character highly recognizable. Meanwhile, my partner's bright yellow long hair and red clothing formed an excellent color collision in the frame, creating a highly vivid visual effect when the two of us stood together.

The shooting process was actually more exhausting than imagined. For example, in the photoset taken under the outdoor wooden corridor and cherry blossom trees, to express a sense of lightness, we repeatedly tried single-leg standing jumping movements, as well as the scene of sitting on the steps "whispering." These duo cosplay interaction shots required both of us to find comfortable positions simultaneously while also accounting for the camera's field of view. However, the photographer gave a lot of instant feedback, helping us adjust our hand and foot positions, and I absolutely love the final photos showing whispering and large arm-waving movements.

I also want to mention this Japanese-style photography studio, where the real-scene construction was done very thoughtfully. The wooden sliding doors and window partitions, paired with the pebbles and stepping stones on the ground, gave the shoot a strong sense of spatial depth. There was also that red oil-paper umbrella, which served as a prop that perfectly balanced the left-and-right structure of the frame. We shot the lantern corridor and indoor small table scenes, trying out various angles. The quality of the raw photos was already very high, requiring absolutely no heavy modifications during retouching, primarily preserving the natural transitions of light and shadow.

The most interesting part of this kind of partner shoot is being able to record the atmospheric vibe of "small interactions" between the characters through our positions and eye contact. Although the entire shoot experienced minor episodes like the wig getting slightly messy and clothes slipping off midway through, everyone handled it very calmly, which conversely added a lot of laughter. The final photos turned out beautifully aligned with our initial conception, possessing both traditional Japanese gentleness and elegance, alongside the distinctive vividness of cosplay.
