Hello everyone, this is Yiyiyi Mizhou. Today, I'm sharing this Honkai: Star Rail Sparkle cosplay photoshoot. This shoot project was planned for quite a while, aiming primarily to visually convey the character's unique dynamic tension and Sweet and cool style.
In terms of costume details, this look has plenty of dimensional layering. The black cropped zip-up jacket features an asymmetrical off-the-shoulder design, accented with brown teddy bear plushies on the cuffs and shoulders to soften the overall sharpness. For the lower half, it's paired with a red-and-black plaid pleated mini skirt, tied at the waist with a monochrome black-and-white ribbon bow and a metallic belt. The leg styling is my personal favorite this time: white over-the-knee socks layered under black fishnet Stockings, paired with black leg warmers featuring metal buckles and white bows, and finished off with chunky platform Mary Jane shoes. This combination visually elongates leg proportions and enriches the ensemble with intricate details.
For hair and makeup, the silver-white twintail wig had red highlights, pinned with X-shaped hair clips and black bows, with pink translucent sunglasses resting on top of the head. The eye makeup used a soft pink gradient wash, coordinated with red colored contacts and deep red lip makeup, hoping to draw closer before the lens to the character's playful, slightly rebellious aura.
The location chosen for this shoot was inside a pink claw machine. The pink neon lights, clear acrylic glass, and the giant teddy bear doll beside it provided a wonderful clash of colors for the frame. The red-and-black outfit popped vividly against the pink backdrop in this Claw machine photoshoot.
As for gear, I used a Sony A7R6 paired with the Sony FE 28-70mm F2 GM lens. Because the space inside the claw machine was relatively cramped, the perspective effect of the wide-angle lens played a huge role here. Sitting inside the machine, extending my legs toward the lens or crossing them with bent knees leveraged wide-angle perspective distortion to make my legs appear longer and more slender. During the shoot, I tried to utilize the glass frames as leading lines to give the composition greater depth.
In terms of physical expression, to match the Claw machine photoshoot scene, I incorporated grabbing poses, peace signs, and half-kneeling stances to make the entire frame feel more interactive. Being static photography, relaxed body language and expressive eyes were essential to convey that casual, buoyant amusement arcade vibe.
When shooting stylings with an abundance of fishnet Stockings, metallic hardware, and plaid patterns, the key is keeping the composition clean so accessories don't overshadow the subject. For lighting, we relied primarily on ambient light with subtle fill light, preserving the dreamy pink mood. I hope this photo set lets everyone experience a different side of Sparkle. I'll continue experimenting with different creative styles in the future and sharing daily shooting routines and insights!
