This set of feature photos is the result of a recent collaboration in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region with a very reliable 2D/anime photographer. As a coser who frequently attends comic conventions and studio shoots, meeting a tacit partner can truly save a lot of trouble. This collaboration with a Wuxi-based secondary photographer made the entire process, from preliminary communication to finally receiving the finished photos, feel extremely comfortable.
Let's talk about the hardware and post-processing first. The photographer uses a Sony A7R3, supplemented by flashes and constant lights, capturing details exceptionally well whether indoors with complex lighting or outdoors. As a coser obsessed with makeup, styling, and costumes, I place great value on the texture of photos. The photographer's style leans towards naturalness and ambiance, and the post-processing is purely manual using LR and PS without any AI. Therefore, the final photos don't look fake, and both skin texture and clothing materials are well preserved—this sense of realism is exactly what I wanted.
The shooting efficiency is also worth praising heavily. I have done many outdoor shoots; sometimes when encountering a slow-paced photographer, one outfit can drag on for a whole day, causing massive physical exhaustion. However, this photographer shoots very quickly and is great at guiding poses. Even for a coser who occasionally feels stiff in front of the camera, under his guidance, they can capture a great state, with a success rate of finished photos as high as 20% to 50%. What touched me most is the turnaround time: delivering photos in 1 to 2 days. Such godly speed is simply a lifesaver for us who can't wait to see our beautiful looks right after getting a new costume.
Regarding the cooperation experience. I have always believed that producing photos is a two-way street. The photographer also mentioned in his post that he hopes the cooperating models are adults, have camera presence, care about makeup, styling, and costumes, and can return photos within a week. I find these requirements very reasonable. Mutual respect, punctuality, and trustworthiness are the bare minimum. Before this shoot, we communicated in detail about the shooting theme and the desired ambiance, arrived on time on the shooting day, and cooperated with great tacit understanding. Because the shooting atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant, I quickly entered the zone and showed quite good expressiveness.
Whether it's a fantasy-style maid outfit or a sci-fi combat suit that highlights body shape, the photographer can accurately capture the characteristics of each styling. For coser friends in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai area looking to shoot feature photos, meeting such a photographer with smooth communication, solid skills, fast image delivery, and a matching style is truly a wonderful experience. Working hard together to present a better 2D effect, this process of mutual cooperation itself is an enjoyment.
