On Sunday, we competed in the ChinaJoy 2026 Cosplay Super League South China Division Guangzhou Preliminaries, and our C-Fantasy team ultimately clinched the runner-up title. Right now, I'm still fully suited in my Savage cosplay with gear and wig still on, but my head is completely flooded with memories from the past two days.

Preparing this Savage cosplay costume from Arknights was actually quite time-consuming. The black tactical-style jacket seen in the photos had its metal buckles and harness straps manually customized by hand just to stay true to the character's original design. The pair of gray bunny ears on top was custom-made in plush, and the silver-white twin-tail wig looked stunning under the stage lights alongside the Black stockings cosplay ensemble.

Unlike solo performances in the past, our whole team put on an Anime stage play together. Because I played Savage, who wields a giant warhammer in the story, the prop department crafted a massive hammer for me that was relatively lightweight yet visually imposing. In our stage choreography over the past few days, the positioning while swinging the giant hammer became a key comedic highlight and running gag. Our group members have been turning frozen frames of me swinging the hammer into hilarious memes non-stop—it was wildly fun, and our group chat has never been this lively for two days straight!

Although during regular practice we had to repeatedly calibrate balance and center of gravity due to the hammer's weight and momentum, on the day of the preliminaries, stepping onto the red-carpeted stage before the audience's gaze brought a rush of excitement that completely overshadowed any fatigue. Those few minutes of performance on stage were the culmination of months of rehearsals and prop refinement off-stage.

I took these photos backstage. There were so many fully geared cosplayers on site, everyone pouring all their energy into recreating their characters. Checking in with friends in front of the exhibition backdrop, that large glowing question mark was especially fun, perfectly capturing our mental state during sudden on-stage mishaps.

When the final results were announced, it was an incredible surprise—we won runner-up in the South China division. This is not just a personal honor, but the fruit of our entire team's synergy. While not first place, being able to showcase our passion for Arknights and the character Savage on such a massive stage was deeply fulfilling. Huge thanks to the veterans in the team for leading the way. An Anime stage play cannot be accomplished alone; everyone—from the prop crew to fellow comrades on stage—did their part brilliantly.

After two days of convention schedule, sitting here typing this, the soles of my feet are still aching, but my heart is overflowing with fulfillment. That feeling of taking the stage together, laughing together, and facing unexpected situations as one is the true joy of ChinaJoy 2026. While there's still room for improvement this year, if given the chance next year, I will gladly return on stage as Savage cosplay—or in another role—to swing that giant hammer again. Time to pack up; see you all at the next convention!
