Shooting these Convention photos for Yidhari left a deep impression on me, from initial makeup tests to receiving the finished shots. This Zenless Zone Zero character design really struck a chord with me, so I arranged an impromptu shoot with a photographer right on the convention floor. My first thought upon unboxing the costume was just how many accessories it had: a white cropped techwear top paired with black shorts, while the metallic chains and leather belts around the waist required patient positioning. In particular, that purple patterned tail prop took several angle adjustments to sit naturally in a seated pose.

The wig was a vibrant golden-yellow short cut; that iconic curled lock across the forehead required individual styling and setting, otherwise it would droop easily. For makeup, the focus was placed on the eyes, deepening contours with reddish-pink eyeshadow, and popping in golden-yellow contacts immediately brought the overall character persona to life. The purple-and-gold neck accessory was fastened with Velcro, requiring careful calibration not to wrap it too tightly to avoid discomfort during the shoot.

The on-site shoot was set in a massive hall equipped with steel girders and overhead lighting, where the blurred background lights melted into gorgeous bokeh. To mirror the character's languid yet perilous demeanor, I opted to pose seated in an office chair. The first shot features crossed legs, holding the mechanical staff prop emblazoned with 'HAMMER' in my right hand while gesturing with my left. This seated posture actually puts leg muscles to the test: in this Black stockings cosplay pairing semi-sheer black stockings with chunky platform heels, an unstable center of gravity would throw the garment hem and hanging chains out of alignment, so I frequently adjusted the stocking edges and shoe buckles between takes.

The second shot altered my body angle slightly, gripping the staff with both hands and extending outward to create greater spatial depth. The black mechanical apparatus at the base of the staff carried noticeable weight, demanding steady arm control to keep it from slanting awkwardly. The photographer offered helpful direction, such as not staring dead-on into the lens, but letting a slightly nonchalant gaze carry the character's temperament. The lighting contrast on-site was pronounced; overhead fixtures easily triggered specular glare off the black heels, so we shifted positions multiple times to leverage floor reflections for added dimensional depth.

The costume's fabrics looked fantastic under the convention lighting, especially the contrast between the white top and black leather belts. Because pairing stockings with shorts requires mindful posing, I was especially deliberate about limb angles, ensuring leg lines extended smoothly and naturally within the frame. Though exhausting, seeing how seamlessly the light, shadow, and character merged in the final images made all the effort feel completely worthwhile.
