[Nico cosplay] Daily life of the pink-haired boss in Zenless Zone Zero

The moment I pushed the door open and saw the set already prepared—red brick walls, blue-purple lighting, and scattered small props—the silhouette of that pink-haired girl instantly sprang to mind.

For this shoot, a lot of thought went into the early costume and prop preparations. The upper body features a two-piece design: a white cropped midriff T-shirt printed with black-style geometric patterns as the inner layer, paired with a crisply tailored black leather jacket on the outside. The leather fabric offers great natural reflections under studio lights, which is why I decided to wear the leather jacket open—revealing the inner straps and just the right amount of exposed skin, fitting the character's biker street style while looking sharp and dashing.

The black choker around the neck with that dark pendant is a wonderful detail, combined with small hair clips and black beast-ear ornaments on the head; although clips usually slip easily, they turned out surprisingly photogenic during the shoot. I especially want to praise the leg styling this time: black high-tube sock boots combined with thigh strap garters, the splicing of leather and cutout fabrics, and metallic rivet embellishments—these techwear elements make up a huge portion of this look for Black stockings cosplay. Wearing them not only adds overall visual depth, but also brings out the visual impression of the character being nimble, agile, and ready for action at any second.

The photographer utilized cool-toned blue-violet lighting this time, forming a vivid color contrast against the red brick wall and game-themed ornaments in the background, which also made the texture of the hair color appear more translucent. During the shoot, I held that striking neon green bunny plush as an interactive prop; the bunny's mischievous expression, paired with my aloof or playful gaze, captured many fun moments. In the second photo, using a small gold coin prop to cover one eye is one of my personal favorite compositions, breaking the rigidity of facing the lens head-on.

In fact, during the shoot, high-tempo electronic background music played constantly on-site, naturally setting the shooting rhythm. Whether perching on the edge of the table or leaning slightly forward holding the plush, every movement required engaging the abs and straightening the waist to keep the leather jacket's silhouette from sagging. Moreover, the boots have chunky platform soles; while they enhance height, repeatedly adjusting strides and sitting postures genuinely tested stamina and bodily coordination.

For hair and makeup, beyond the fluffy pink curls and green colored contacts, the eye makeup deliberately enhanced the blending of the lower eyeshadow to give the eyes more sparkle, and the beauty mark beneath the left eye was darkened to get as close as possible to the character's expressive visual tension in the dynamic in-game art of Zenless Zone Zero. Throughout the session, although wearing the full gear and wig was somewhat sweltering, seeing the final photos made all the effort and adjustments completely worthwhile.

When shooting this category of Anime cosplay, I've always felt that beyond basic "visual resemblance," the most vital part is conveying the character's unique core personality at that frozen moment—decisive, mischievous, and slightly tsundere in this Nico cosplay. The set and lighting coordinated seamlessly this time, making the finished set a thoroughly satisfying attempt at recreating the character in cosplay.
