Sharing my Prinz Moritz cosplay Convention photos from Foshan CPG Day 2, where I cosplayed Prinz Moritz from Azur Lane. The lighting right after entering the venue was exceptional; the backlight caught the edges of the wig and wings to create crisp rim lighting, and the photographer seized that window to capture these dynamic frames. Because the convention hall was quite crowded and visually busy, we sought out reflective tiled flooring and areas in front of glass doors so background passersby could be smoothly blurred out with shallow depth of field.
To keep things practical for travel, I chose a white suitcase as a prop; sitting on it for full-body shots not only elongated the leg lines but was far easier to transport than lighter, bulkier props. The costume features intricate detailing: the black-and-pink lace skirt hem, black thigh rings, Black stockings cosplay styling paired with platform heels, along with the eyepatch and pink-highlighted wig instantly brought out the distinctive Gothic style aesthetic. Bringing the oversized staff prop was quite a challenge; its hollow heart-shaped top piece was fragile, demanding extra care during poses, while also ensuring the red liquid in the prop blood bag wouldn't leak.
During the crouching poses, finding proper balance was crucial to avoid slipping in high heels. The tight white gloves with long nails easily snagged on the delicate lace of the skirt, making hand positioning essential during posing. With ambient light entering from multiple angles across the hall, the pink highlights on the wig photographed very naturally. Overall, the sheer black lace, oversized pink bow, chalk in the left hand, and ID card in the right perfectly embodied the little devil character design.
We moved through standing, seated, and half-kneeling poses, seizing brief lulls in the bustling crowd to release the shutter. The backlit shots stood out especially—sunlight glowing through the strands of hair revealed soft pink radiance that illuminated the entire frame. Walking all afternoon in ultra-high heels was physically taxing, but the elongated leg silhouette fully matched the character's visual expectations. Transporting numerous props during setup and teardown was demanding, yet seeing the finished quality of these Convention photos made every effort worthwhile. The makeup utilized pink-brown eyeshadow and cosmetic lenses, highlighting a subtly tsundere and alluring charm. Passing photographers also helped snap a few frames, capturing spontaneous, natural moments. Overall, this offline convention shoot went smoothly among friendly attendees, with the styling and props coming together harmoniously to showcase all the intricate costume details.
