Shooting this set of Kagiyama Hina cosplay was divided into two main parts: an indoor Mirror selfie check and dynamic outdoor action captures. The Mirror selfie was chosen to intuitively examine overall styling nuances, including the cut of the dress, the tiered lace trim, and the structured weight of that exaggerated red-and-white oversized bow worn on the head. Combining the long, straight Green hair cosplay wig with the red-and-black palette of the dress, complemented by a gold-trimmed red handbag, allowed the original texture of the costume to shine under neutral indoor lighting.
For the outdoor session, we selected a stone arch bridge spanning a body of water to create a kinetic visual impression. Spinning in place atop the bridge allowed the voluminous skirt and long hair to fully billow outward, with the photographer shooting downward from an elevated vantage point to freeze the flawless circular arc created by the petticoat. In practice, spinning vigorously tests core balance; the heavy skirt generated considerable wind resistance, leaving me dizzy after just a few turns. Yet to nail that windblown momentum, we repeated the action multiple times. The weather was lovely on the day of the shoot, with shimmering light dancing across the water, and gentle backlighting sharpened the contours of surrounding trees and bridge masonry. Though outdoor lighting can be tricky to manage, the final results aligned unexpectedly well with the character's core temperament. Centered around the theme of bringing more Touhou to everyone's feeds, joining this event as a Touhou Project enthusiast made the whole process thoroughly enjoyable. From prepping garments and props to scouting locations and polishing the final images, it was a complete and fulfilling creative journey—a satisfying record dedicated to the Touhou Project community.
