Shooting this Marisa cosplay look this time, what I wanted to capture the most was that agile feeling of floating in the air and being ready to cast spells at any moment. The fan effect formed by the skirt's layered ruffles and star prints when spinning is excellent. Paired with the magic broom and lantern in hand, both the character's everyday vibe and combat tension come through. The shoes were specially chosen to be thick-heeled black leather shoes, which can elongate the leg lines and make it convenient to perform various running and jumping actions inside the hall.
During the shoot, I tried to raise my center of gravity as much as possible, using my heels to touch the ground to create a slight illusion of hovering. The curve of the flying skirt hem was also adjusted several times before reaching a satisfying state. When styling the wig, I did meticulous spiral curls to give the sidelocks and hair ends a naturally fluffy layer. Paired with the tilt angle of the wide-brimmed hat, the head-to-body ratio looks more coordinated. For this Convention photography session in the open indoor venue, natural light combined with fill light from a reflector gave a great texture performance to both the white lace details and the golden hair strands, preserving the real fabric texture and wrinkles of the costume without excessive post-processing.
What moves me most about the character Marisa is her independent and persistent personality, venturing through Gensokyo with just a small broom and magic. Therefore, during the shoot, I also tried to make my expression look confident and slightly playful, rather than simply striking a cute pose. Every time I put on this outfit, I feel as if the spellbook and mushroom soup are right at hand; that sense of immersion cannot be replaced by any game graphics. The blurred background of the moving crowd inside the venue actually added to the on-site realism, like a moment captured during a convention. The fun of this character Roleplay lies in integrating the 2D settings into the real 3D space in one's own way. From props to makeup, every detail helps the character become alive. I hope this leaping moment can deliver that relaxed yet energetic atmosphere.
