[Seija Kijin Cosplay] Touhou Project Amanojaku Fitting Session (Casual Cosplay Record)

With less than a day left before tomorrow's official photoshoot, I rushed to try on the entire outfit today for final fitting adjustments. The images posted here are mirror selfies taken at home today, mainly to check if the wig, the layers of the costume, and the overall proportions are well-coordinated. The character I prepared this time is Seija Kijin from Touhou Project (featured in Touhou Kishinjou ~ Double Dealing Character).

Upon putting on the costume today, my first impression was that the overall layering is incredibly rich. The top is an off-white, slightly yellowish puff-sleeve shirt with a unique dark blue bowtie design at the collar, complete with two hanging blue rope knots and decorated with red-and-white little star badges—the chest area has plenty of detailed texture. A gray plaid-textured shawl is draped over the shoulders. These elements combined keep the upper body from looking too monotonous.

The bottom half features this rather dramatic red skirt, which has an excellent flare and fluffiness. The edge of the red fabric is stitched with black jagged lace borders, and the bottommost layer matches the shawl pattern. This rich layering of the skirt should make it highly photogenic for tomorrow's final shots. For accessories, the hairstyle includes a black wig with a pair of small white horns on both sides of the head, and that streak of red hair in the bangs is extremely eye-catching. While it looks very accurate visually when worn, trying this on indoors in the middle of summer definitely makes me feel the \"warmth\" of this design.

Then there's the shoe and sock combination on the feet—black platform geta (clogs) with red thongs, paired with a basic pair of white crew socks. This combination has a very unique visual balance, with a touch of traditional Japanese style. I just walked around the house for quite a few laps, mainly to get used to the walking posture in these geta and find angles that are both easy on the feet and look great in photos. Since the official shoot is tomorrow, after all, the naturalness of my standing and walking postures will directly affect the final results.

As for props, I prepared that black baseball bat decorated with white arrow patterns. Swinging it in hand, coupled with a slightly provocative pose, indeed brings out that rebellious and Gekokujo (defiant) vibe of the character. Although this character's popularity in today's anime/ACG circle might not be as high as those from massive mainstream titles—indeed, it could be called a relatively niche choice—the preparation process has still filled me with anticipation. Every single accessory and every layer of the skirt was carefully put together. Regardless of whether tomorrow's final photos meet everyone's expectations, at least I feel a solid sense of accomplishment right now during the fitting.

I plan to refine the makeup tomorrow; today was mainly about using the mirror's feedback to see if the clothes had any wardrobe malfunctions or misalignment issues. For example, the positions and angles of the small red arrow decorations on the front of the skirt need careful adjustment to make them look uniform. Taking mirror selfies by yourself always has certain limitations—angles and lighting are constrained by the home environment. However, I think photos from the fitting stage should ideally focus on realism. Once we get to a more professional venue tomorrow with proper lighting and camera angles, the texture of this costume will definitely look much better.

In the lore of Touhou Project, this character inherently has a fearless, daredevil nature, so while wearing this outfit, I'll try my best to channel that confident, casual, and even slightly arrogant vibe. I hope I can truly capture that intended spirit in front of the camera tomorrow.
