This time I tried out a custom concept styling for Jett from VALORANT. Compared to her default skin, this set incorporates more of an autumn street feel. A black leather jacket paired with a white cropped camisole and denim shorts, layered with translucent black crew socks and platform loafers, and holding an iconic baseball bat, the overall look aims to present a casual yet somewhat aggressive swagger. To match this style, the shooting time was chosen for a night with a cool autumn breeze, located on an overpass with teal-green railings.
In terms of post-processing and color grading, a teal-and-orange tone was extensively used this time. The night city lights are already quite rich; darkening the cool parts of the environment while brightening the subject's skin tone and the warm light sources in the background precisely creates that cyberpunk yet retro atmosphere. The teal-and-orange tone looks exceptionally textured under the night neon, and it can set off the subject's skin tone very cleanly.
To capture this texture, the equipment used for shooting was also crucial. This time I brought the Sony A7M5 body, with FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM and FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II lenses. The mid-range focal lengths were used to snap some close-ups and emotions, while the telephoto was used to compress the background, making the city light bokeh even prettier. Another very important accessory is the Kenko BLACK MIST NO.05 soft focus filter. It is truly amazing in night scenes, softening highlights to make distant lights present a gentle bokeh, while bringing a slight skin-smoothing effect that makes the skin look more delicate and natural, with edges that aren't too sharp.
During the shoot, because the character herself has a rather cool setting, the pose design avoided the sweet route entirely. Whether sitting casually on the ground with legs stretched out, stepping one foot on the railing, or holding the baseball bat and looking straight into the camera, I hoped to convey that streetwise, unruly character personality. As for the gaze, I tried to keep it cold, occasionally carrying a sense of scrutiny.
The half-off state of the leather jacket was also deliberately designed, which can both reveal the inner wear details and add a touch of effortless casualness. The combination of translucent black stockings and platform shoes emphasizes leg lines while elongating the overall proportions. Although the autumn night was a bit cold, for the effect of this photo set, it was totally worth it.
