This Halloween-themed Plana little zombie styling has finally met everyone. To fit the holiday atmosphere, a lot of thought was put into the makeup, styling, and scene construction this time. The wig chose a silver-white double-buns hairstyle, with deliberate braiding detail treatment, plus the iconic animal ears and the black headband on the forehead, restoring the character's features in details as much as possible. Makeup emphasized eye depiction, wearing light-colored contact lenses, and brightening the overall skin tone, hoping to present a texture similar to a BJD doll. The costume is an off-the-shoulder dress in a black-and-white color scheme, with an off-the-shoulder neckline design paired with a large white bow on the chest, plus wide black-and-white spliced bell sleeves, increasing the gorgeous feel of the overall styling. The lower body is matched with black shorts and black stockings, showcasing the leg lines appropriately while maintaining the character's original setting. The yellow talisman paper held in the hand is the finishing touch of the entire styling, printed with red rune patterns, which not only fits the little zombie setting but also adds a touch of Eastern fantastical color.
In preparing shooting props, we brought in a vintage leather sofa, a patterned Persian rug, and a large number of Halloween-element props, such as orange jack-o'-lanterns of various sizes, skull models, vintage candelabras, and wooden treasure chests. To enrich the picture, dark red fake flowers and feather decorations were also dotted. In terms of photographic lighting, to highlight the eerie and fantastical atmosphere of Halloween, we adopted a very strong warm-and-cool contrast light. The main light source used warm-leaning orange-yellow light to illuminate the face and clothing, while ambient and rim lights used cool-toned blue-purple. This lighting method greatly enhanced the three-dimensional sense of the picture, adding layers to an otherwise ordinary indoor scene.
During the shooting process, I tried different poses and compositions. For example, a full-body photo sitting on the sofa with legs stretched out can completely display the overall silhouette of the costume and leg lines; a high-angle squatting pose can better account for the prop-rich background, creating an enclosed atmosphere; a close-up half-body photo focuses more on the expression of expression and the texture of light and shadow. Because it's a little zombie setting, the expression needs to maintain a slightly pale inorganic texture, but the overall atmosphere is still dominated by cuteness and playfulness. When adjusting actions, I paid special attention to the position of the talisman paper, ensuring it can play a role in guiding the line of sight in the frame. Every time shooting this kind of themed cosplay, a balance needs to be found between props, light/shadow, and actions; although the process is quite tedious, seeing the final presented picture effect, the energy and time previously invested were totally worth it.
