[Ramiel cosplay] Collision of Patent Leather and Metal Elements in Zenless Zone Zero

Today, I shot this styling of Ramiel from Zenless Zone Zero. The moment I received the costume, I carefully studied its construction. Centered on glossy black patent leather, the outfit delivers powerful visual impact, though wearing and shooting it posed quite a challenge. The patent leather fabric fits very snugly, creating a bit of resistance when moving and easily reflecting ambient light. To capture the three-dimensional depth of the zippers, metallic buckles, and star embellishments, we tested lighting setups multiple times, ultimately using broad diffused soft light paired with side rim-lighting to bring out that crisp, lustrous texture.

The wig features vibrant short pink hair with relatively fine strands. To give it volume without stray flyaways, I trimmed and styled it in advance. The black cross hairclip and bow hair accessories on top served as the finishing touch. For makeup, red-toned contact lenses were paired with softly smudged eye shadow, making the crimson lips and red manicured nails pop vividly against the black outfit.

The location was set in a space designed like a classical study. Dark wooden bookshelves and deep crimson curtains provided a mysterious, vintage undertone. Gold picture frames, crystal candelabras, white lilies, and black gift boxes were arranged across the floor. The black feathered wings behind me were a major prop requiring continuous adjustments; because of their substantial size, failing to secure them properly could make the overall silhouette appear bulky, so we constantly monitored the angle of the wings throughout the shoot.

To fully showcase the characteristics of this outfit, I experimented with multiple poses. Paired with sheer black stockings and high heels featuring metallic buckles, accentuating the lines of the legs became paramount. Crossing my legs while seated on the vintage sofa, reclining sideways on the floor to extend my legs, or leaning forward toward the camera—every movement sought to strike a balance between allure and the garment's innate coolness. The mesh sleeves and patent leather waist cincher offered a striking tactile contrast. The garter belts and metallic chains also added dynamic motion when moving or shifting between seated poses. Throughout the session, the garment required constant smoothing, especially smoothing out creases where the patent leather bent. It was a remarkably challenging yet deeply satisfying anime cosplay experience.
