[2B cosplay] NieR:Automata: Cool & Glamorous Moments of the Bunny Girl in Black stockings

The concept for this photoshoot was to merge the character 2B from NieR:Automata with classic bunny girl elements, using this contrast to bring out an alternative persona. The shoot took place in an expansive, open space with a grid ceiling and reflective flooring; this chilly ambiance greatly enhanced the android's mechanical detachment. The outfit primarily consists of glossy patent leather—a cropped jacket and high-waisted shorts paired with ultra-thin black stilettos and Black stockings. Glossy patent leather easily generates harsh glare under cool white overhead lights, requiring frequent angle adjustments to avoid unwanted hotspots and let the authentic patent texture shine through naturally. The choice of Black stockings was equally deliberate—neither completely opaque nor overly sheer, the semi-sheer texture flattered the skin tone of the legs under low-angle illumination.

A low-angle upward perspective was the cornerstone of this shoot. Low camera angles elongate the lower body, and to accentuate long proportions, I sat sideways on a tall bar stool with crossed legs, keeping my back straight and chin tucked slightly. Pointing my toes firmly downward engaged the calf muscles into a sharper, more graceful silhouette. The circular disc prop in hand had slight weathering on the edges, which filled the empty space on the left side and balanced the composition. To match the stilettos and bunny ears, I added white sleeves with black polka dots, instantly establishing a cool, glamorous presence. Raising my elbows slightly smoothed out arm lines. For makeup, we highlighted the sleek shine of the silver-white bob wig and contact lenses, elongating and winging the eyeliner to project an entirely different aura alongside a stoic expression.

The set was quiet throughout. The photographer lay flat on the floor for long periods to find the perfect camera angles, ensuring the background ceiling grid lines wouldn't disrupt my silhouette. To reflect the character's extraordinary coolness, I fixed my gaze on an off-camera point, keeping my eyes unfocused yet resolute. An emotionless, subtly aloof gaze is essential for this style. During the intense shoot, the smooth soles of the stilettos on the stool made balancing nerve-wracking, yet staying elegant in spite of it was an amusing contrast. Shifting weight was crucial for balance on the tall stool, requiring considerable engagement in leg muscles. The echoing click of stiletto heels against the stool legs in the empty room created an intensely focused atmosphere that helped me fully immerse into character.

This look was a distinctive creative endeavor, transforming the combat maiden into a dark-aesthetic bunny girl style. Looking at the lighting and texture of the finished photos, both the presentation of leg contours and the overall cold, sleek, alluring atmosphere met our expectations. Shooting was also a journey of exploring diverse character interpretations and handling styling under hard reflective materials. People often critique their own work, yet every frame captured with intentional styling brings unexpected rewards. Though my feet ached afterward, previewing the images made all the effort worthwhile. Pairing Black stockings with leather easily looks messy without proper posing, so studying camera presence was well worth the time. The dusty pinkish-purple contacts paired with silver hair created an almost surreal AI aura under cool overhead lighting. The Black stockings offered a subtle sheen under the lamps, and the white bow ties on the ankles broke the monotony of solid black. Keeping the core engaged and shoulders relaxed prevented stiffness. I love this sharp, cool style. A great 2D cosplay goes beyond mere resemblance—it is the spark created when the character meets one's personal aesthetic.

Posing with the props required careful control; holding the disc with one hand while keeping the center of gravity steady and fingers relaxed took forearm strength. The unified color palette of cool black and silver-white deepened my appreciation for visual lines. Every shutter click felt like a fresh experience, which is why I remain passionate about cosplay. The silver-white bob looked like a layer of frost under cool lights, and the bunny ears were a favorite detail. Though sitting on the stool for long periods made my legs numb, snapping instantly into expression and posture when the camera panned over was second nature thanks to accumulated experience.
