[Kikyo cosplay] Blue Archive and Re:Zero at Hangzhou Dreamland Anime Convention

National Day 2025, Hangzhou International Expo Center, the 4th Hangzhou Dreamland Anime Convention—my three-day free-pass plan is finally locked in. Three entirely distinct souls—Rem cosplay, Kikyo cosplay, and Shimoe Koharu cosplay—await to be reawakened by me on stage. Looking through these recent photos, here is a record of my prep state during the buildup.

The first outfit is a white off-the-shoulder mini dress paired with large black feathered wings. The halo hairpiece and ruffled lace along the skirt hem were manually adjusted, and champagne-colored roses were chosen for the bouquet to brighten the overall palette. White thigh-high socks paired with high heels elongate the standing silhouette; although the wings carry considerable weight, the inner shoulder strap design distributes the load effectively. When walking, the wingtips sway gently with each step, capturing natural motion dynamics during the shoot.

The second set leans towards a uniform style, featuring a blonde high ponytail with a red-and-black color-blocked jacket; the sleeve embroidery and long waist streamers add rich layering. The handheld shield prop features built-in pink grid lighting, providing perfect fill light for facial contours under low-light studio settings. The long sword prop on my back was specially counterbalanced for photoshoot usability—though heavy to hold, the moment of turning back over the shoulder radiates pure heroic crispness.

The third outfit features a plush-textured white top paired with a cyan-blue skirt; the fox ears and tail are hand-flocked, creating natural sway trajectories while walking. The flower basket is filled with orange daisies, forming a vibrant color contrast with the red collar bow. Small flower embroidery on the brown round bag serves as a detailed easter egg; the overall style leans soft and adorable, perfectly suited for outdoor natural light.

The fourth set switches to casual sportswear, pairing a loose white top with black-and-blue cuffs, alongside a classic combination of black thigh-high socks and canvas shoes for clean leg lines. Sitting on blue bleacher seats, the pink circular headpiece creates an intriguing contrast against the cool-toned chair. This look features the lightest makeup, emphasizing only a subtle reddish eye shadow smudge to recreate a lazy yet focused everyday vibe.

The fifth look embraces a black-and-white maid style, featuring purple hair with straight bangs paired with black cat ears. The collar lace is triple-layered and adorned with a purple fabric flower. Black bows and small blue ribbons accent the cuffs, creating an exquisite look with a touch of retro flavor. The blurred indoor shelf background remains extremely clean; during half-body close-ups, lightly pinching the necktie with fingertips fits the character's personality perfectly.

The sixth set returns to a black off-the-shoulder dress. The pink-and-white twintails feature the same black wing hair accessories, but this time paired with translucent black lace gloves; looking back over the shoulder highlights ideal curves along the collarbone and shoulders. Soft lighting across outdoor brick walls and green lawns rendered the texture of the black outfit with beautiful translucency.

For this three-day free pass, each character's makeup will have eyebrow shapes and eyeliner angles adjusted according to hair color; trimming and styling the three wigs required significant effort. Regarding props, bouquets, shields, flower baskets, and weapons must all be packed in advance, leaving buffer time for on-site repairs. Human traffic at Hangzhou International Expo Center during National Day will be huge, so I plan to arrive half an hour early for final contour adjustments. Each costume change is a process of stepping into character anew; from long-haired classical maids to socks-and-canvas schoolgirls, different clothing styles bring entirely distinct body language. I hope to present all these details on stage and share behind-the-scenes stories face-to-face with friends who love these looks at Hangzhou Dreamland Anime Convention.
