Dongguan Dongshi Cpark, this brand-new Anime-themed check-in spot, I quickly took my Bocchi-chan cosplay outfit to do a location scout last weekend before the crowd reached its peak. The B1 step plaza has been turned into an incredibly rich pop manga style, with black-and-white lines, cloud speech bubbles, neon color accents, plus exaggerated floor stickers and that iconic dimension archway, completely pulling the atmosphere to the max. It is indeed a great place with few people and easy to take good photos.
This time I cosplayed Bocchi-chan from Bocchi the Rock!. Because the scenery itself has a very distinct decorative style, if I directly copied that iconic pink tracksuit from the original work, the colors might clash slightly with the background dominated by black, white, and yellow. Therefore, for this styling, I chose a black-and-white maid outfit paired with the iconic pink wig and white tights. On my feet are a pair of black chunky-heeled Mary Janes. This outfit not only retains Bocchi-chan's cute pink hair trait but also perfectly fits the pop-art space tone of Cpark, creating a nice echo with the black-and-white line "ita-wall" in the background.
During the check-in and shooting process, the floor stickers and layout design indeed offered many great spots to strike poses. The huge black-and-white zebra crossing fonts on the floor like "COOL", "HELLO", and "GO" create an illusion of falling into a game interface when looking down from a high angle. The back-view photo standing under the archway, coupled with the line extension on the floor, makes the visual movement very smooth. The ita-wall is another super photogenic corner. That huge background board marked "Ita-Wall Dimension Medal", paired with the structure of manga panel frames, tilting my head slightly while wearing star sunglasses, or directly making a photo-taking gesture with both hands, can all find a composition style similar to an anime cover.
There is also that half-body photo frame design that says, "Congratulations to the party involved, you look drop-dead gorgeous today!", putting my face into it felt like breaking through the dimension wall, which just happens to match Bocchi-chan's slightly goofy and casual personality. Without needing too many deliberate poses, the white stockings paired with Mary Jane shoes can beautifully elongate the body proportions in static standing or slightly sitting compositions, and the texture looks great under this mall lighting.
After finishing the check-in shoot, of course, I couldn't miss the anime merchandise shops on the first floor. Wangu Club, Yougu Qi, and Senjiu Yinghua are located very close to each other, displaying a lot of currently popular IP merchandise inside, with many limited editions and original artbooks to shop for. Moreover, it is said that there is a Dongguan Anime Merchandise Market every Saturday here, where you can enjoy shopping for merchandise while interacting with fellow fans; the anime concentration of the entire commercial district is truly high.
For friends who want to check in at the same spot, here are a few tips to share. First is the lighting issue: because the step plaza is a semi-open mall atrium, the light from 2 or 3 PM to dusk is the most comfortable—neither too harsh nor too dark, creating a beautiful soft-focus effect when hitting the hair and white fabric. When shooting high-angle exhibition board portraits, you can slightly lower the phone or camera position; the low-angle shot not only avoids the mall guardrails overhead but also makes the character look taller. If you encounter a crowd, try to utilize half-body shots and close-up compositions more, such as using plush props or hair accessories to block out part of the crowd, focusing the frame more on the character itself.
Overall, this black-and-white Bocchi-chan maid outfit is genuinely versatile within the outdoor layout of Dongguan Cpark, and the captured color tones also give a clean and sharp visual feel. There are plenty of things to see and play around with nearby; walking around on weekdays or weekends is a rare relaxing experience. If any friends are planning to check it out, you can refer to this outfit idea, combine it with the manga elements of the scene, and strive to take satisfying anime photos.
