Cosplaying Tribbie at the AW Comic Con this time was full of challenges and fun from early preparations all the way to shooting on site. To perfectly recreate this outfit, I compared materials across several fabric suppliers and finally settled on a twill fabric with good weight and wrinkle resistance. Under the lights, it doesn't give off any cheap glare and keeps the skirt's structured silhouette crisp. The embroidered lace and golden piping on the dress involved extremely intricate details—I even bought miniature metal charms and reassembled them onto the cuffs and collar to elevate the overall delicacy of the costume.
The elf ears are the true soul of this look. To make them look as if they grew naturally from my skin, instead of using ready-made slip-on ears, I sculpted molds myself with polymer clay. Then, blending the edges seamlessly with scar wax and body paint, and finishing with a generous layer of setting spray, they held up flawlessly even under close-up shots without any visible seams. For the small white flowers on the headpiece, I brushed on a light gloss varnish to simulate a subtle glazed ceramic texture.
As for the White stockings, to achieve that snug yet breathable look in photos, I picked a mild-compression velvet material. It not only visually slims and shapes the legs, but also ensures that awkward bunching won't appear around the knees and ankles when doing various crouching, kneeling, or seated poses. Matching these White stockings, the choice of footwear was crucial too: I slightly raised the platform sole to elongate my proportions and repainted the gold trim around the heels to echo the hair accessories.
During the live shoot, the giant golden apple prop was definitely the crowning touch. Holding it while striking various playful poses created such a fun chemical reaction with the airy, whimsical costume. The photographer completely understood the anime aesthetic I was aiming for, using LED fill lights to create a clear, luminous glow on my face while highlighting the catchlights in my eyes. The ambient lighting at comic con was quite chaotic, but we paid special attention to shadow fill to prevent harsh dark contours across the face.
Even though the venue was packed and walking around in tall boots and White stockings was tiring, everyone's enthusiasm gave me immense energy. A few times while resting, fellow fans came over to praise how much care went into my props, and someone even asked which brand of White stockings I was wearing, saying the sheen was just right! These little interactions made me feel so fulfilled. I'm really happy with this batch of event photos, and I hope they bring a smile and a dose of cuteness to all of you.
