This official Herta cosplay shoot was a very delicate and interesting creative process from early preparation to the final photos. Before deciding to do this character, my understanding of her went beyond just her gorgeous magical girl appearance; it focused more on the unique confidence and composure she possesses as a member of the Genius Society.

In terms of costume preparation, this outfit has abundant layers and details. The upper body features a black corset with silver-white hollowed-out totem embroidery, paired with a black collar and a white bow tie, forming a visual focus point that accentuates the neck and shoulder lines. The skirt is an irregular blue-to-purple gradient patchwork, with multi-layered lining and ruffle details on the edges, making movement look very dynamic. Of course, the core is this oversized purple pointed wizard hat with a slightly glossy material. Once the wide brim is on, the character's aura is instantly established.

Regarding props, this blue-and-white geometric staff was also a focus of this shoot. Its structure is composed of multiple square and diamond-shaped modules, with a pink-purple crystal embedded in the very center. It feels substantial in hand without appearing too clunky, and harmonizes perfectly with the overall costume. The boots were also carefully selected black high-heeled tall boots with metal buckles, which, when paired with the black stockings, modify the leg lines well and maintain an elongated proportion overall.

The shoot's set design was quite ingenious. The photographer built two completely different atmospheres. One is a dark-style study scene with dark red drapery, a vintage wooden bookshelf, scattered classic European books, and oversized poker card props on the floor, especially that spade, adding a lot of fantasy and fairy tale color to the frame. The other is a dreamier pink set, utilizing pink flowers, light sheer drapery, and soft pink-purple lighting, making the character appear softer and more full of magic.

The lighting treatment in both scenes was very professional. In the dark-toned scene, rim lighting was used to highlight the texture of the clothes and the reflections on the staff, giving the metal buckles and leather boots a premium feel. The pink scene used large areas of soft light more often, complementing my light purple contact lenses and silver-gray long hair, blending the overall colors comfortably to showcase the character's mysterious and charming qualities.

Regarding makeup and styling, special thanks to the stylist for managing the wig. Silver-gray long hair can easily look frizzy, but the final result had a very smooth texture, and the bangs were trimmed just right, not obstructing my view. The wig and hat fit very well, remaining stable even with large movements. During the shoot, I also tried my best to capture the character's slightly arrogant posture and confident gaze, hoping to reveal the character's soul in static photographs.

Overall, this official photo shoot was a very immersive experience. Working with a professional photography and styling team to restore such an exquisite character was a great creative process. Every detail in the final photos, whether it's the folds of the costume, the geometric lines of the props, or the light and shadow atmosphere in the scenes, makes me feel that this attempt was very worthwhile.
