[Takanashi Hoshino cosplay] This Uncle Just Wants to Slack Off by the Fan in the Summer

Even with the fan on indoors, the stuffy heat makes me just want to collapse and slack off. This uncle... really doesn't want to move a muscle. Watching the floor fan creak and whir as it oscillates, holding the prop gun for too long started to feel heavy, and with the AC not keeping up, leaning against the soft blue-and-white checkered bedsheet was my only solace.

The set design for this shoot was very down-to-earth—straw mats, an electric fan, and woven baskets, all perfectly suited for a lazy afternoon atmosphere. To faithfully capture the details of this 2D character, I spent a lot of time styling the pink wig and wearing those striking blue contact lenses, with a healthy flush of blush on my cheeks. While shooting, I couldn't help but complain in character about how unbearable the Summer heat was, which the photographer said captured the mood perfectly and kept as behind-the-scenes fun.

This school uniform is actually quite comfortable—the navy plaid skirt paired with a white collared shirt brings a vibrant youthful feel, though the tie and suspenders needed constant adjustment to prevent unflattering bunching. When holding the prop gun with gloves on, I brainstormed several poses to balance a relaxed yet subtly guarded stance. The toughest part was definitely wearing long sleeves and over-the-knee White stockings in the Summer heat; while the visual aesthetic is adorable and elongates the legs beneath the skirt, dripping with sweat was genuinely rough.

Taking the first shot sitting on the sofa, I felt completely at ease. Raising a hand while holding the gun, leaning next to that blue plushie, it really felt as though I was zoning out and staring into space. Just then, slanted sunlight filtered in against the wall, creating a fantastic interplay of light and shadow. Although the fan was blowing, the slight breeze was almost completely blocked by the thick wig. Still, to capture the character's signature atmosphere, enduring the heat was entirely worth it.

For the subsequent shots, we switched to sitting and lying on the floor mat. Sitting seiza-style while straightening my back for the camera while maintaining that lazy expression proved quite a test of facial control. Lying flat tested flexibility even more—straightening my insteps, reaching forward, and timing with the spinning fan and pink plushie to capture a genuinely lived-in frame. Special thanks to the photographer for the candid captures, immortalizing that casual, unposed spontaneity. The blue-and-white checkered sheets combined with the vintage green fan created a far more engaging slice-of-life atmosphere than a sterile white studio, making it feel like a genuine Summer afternoon rest.

Prepping all these props and donning the character's outfit felt like stepping straight into her world—a bit lazy and fond of slacking off, yet deeply dependable. Combining everyday clothing with exclusive character props like the sign and gun, I hope this shoot conveys that unique charm of relaxed, uncle-like nonchalance in Blue Archive.
