[Wakaba Mutsumi cosplay] BanG Dream! The Aloof Guitarist of Ave Mujica

Regarding the visual manifestation of Wakaba Mutsumi, I explored numerous new approaches in styling, cosmetics, and ambient mood this time. Starting with the wig: to capture that natural yet chilling detachment, I trimmed the blunt bangs to fall right along the brows while feathering the side locks inward to hug the jawline. Under the studio's cool-toned lighting, the long, straight mint-green hair took on an unreal, porcelain-doll luster. For eye makeup, I selected pale golden-amber contact lenses matched with a pale, alabaster base and faint washes of pink blush, striving to project that distant, fragile doll-like delicacy before the lens.

Wardrobe-wise, this Sailor suit style one-piece dress is rich with subtle accents. The crisp white body fabric pairs with dark slate-blue collar striping, while six golden buttons across the bodice contrast sharply with the slender black satin bow ribbon. A dark navy belt at the waist cinches proportions and visually harmonizes with the blocked hem panels below. During shooting, I experimented with two distinct postures. The first standing pose, with chin resting on hand, aimed to convey pensive isolation with a touch of distance; the enormous brown-and-white plush creature and the distant Christmas tree framed in cool lighting lent a surreal, whimsical environmental backdrop.

In the second photo, I perched upon the massive plush toy with legs crossed. We spent considerable time dialing in this seated posture on set: to ensure the drape of the skirt fell organically while highlighting the clean interplay of white ankle socks and black patent leather loafers, I kept my spine upright while slightly tightening the angle of my crossed legs. This elongated the leg contours on camera, adding depth and three-dimensional balance to the composition. Transitioning the hand from the chin to lightly brushing my hair subtly highlighted the white hair clip on the side. The entire shoot was an exacting exercise in micro-controlling physical nuances, as letting go of tension for even a second would break the taut, marionette-like mechanical grace integral to the character.

Through the lens of photographer @ShangShengDeQiLiuJun, I truly saw how masterful chiaroscuro elevates textural depth. Rather than leaning on over-the-top props, I relied on bodily expression and stark environmental contrasts to narrate the frame, using the immense scale of the plush doll to accentuate the character's frail delicacy. This series is not merely a cosmetic recreation of Wakaba Mutsumi's silhouette, but a visual interpretation of her internal temperament. I hope this portrayal allows everyone to experience that uniquely quiet, chilling aura.
