This shoot features a traditional style cosplay look leaning towards an Oriental fantasy fox spirit theme. The costume adopts a red and white color scheme patchwork with gold-brimmed embroidery, delivering a very high color saturation visually. To align with the agile nature of a fox, a long straight black wig was chosen, paired with two strands of draping sideburns. Together with customized large animal ears for a Kemonomimi girl appearance and a fluffy tail, the fluffiness of the hair was handled quite naturally without intentionally flattening it down.
For the makeup, the focus was on emphasizing the red eyeshadow around the eyes and the mystical markings on the cheeks, with a retro matte red for the lip color, giving the entire facial expression a more cunning feel characteristic of a fox. During the shoot, we specially found a withered branch prop and a few bamboo stalks to set up a minimalist Oriental courtyard scene. Paired with a gray background cloth, it brings out the colors of the character and clothing more vividly.
The first photo is a front close-up in a kneeling position, looking straight into the lens; this angle beautifully showcases the collar details of the costume and the lines of the arms. The second one is a sitting position, with a hand gently lifting a strand of hair and the tail naturally scattered beside me, looking more relaxed. Actually, the most time-consuming part during the shooting process was adjusting the positioning angle of the tail. Because of the large volume of fur, we had to ensure it extended naturally from behind without blocking the main silhouette of the body. This entire set of photos did not rely excessively on post-processing effects; we preferred to restore the fabric texture of the costume itself and the cleanliness of the makeup. After all, the core of cosplay still lies in capturing the character's temperament and restoring the details.
