[Eleg cosplay] The Energetic Outfit in Goddess of Victory: Nikke

The moment I received this Eleg cosplay costume, it felt incredibly refreshing. The classic yellow, white, and black color palette, paired with the fluffy cat-ear hood, thoroughly showcases the character's energetic and agile nature. When preparing for this cosplay photography session, the focus was placed on restoring the structural layering of the outfit. The upper garment features a classic cropped zip-up jacket, where the black and yellow splicing at the collar adds a touch of tech-wear detailing, while the detached off-the-shoulder design makes the shoulder and arm lines appear more elongated on camera. The detached arm sleeves are printed with black strap decorations, and the strongly contrasting edge color blocks give this pure white-based outfit highly recognizable visual appeal.

The lower half features a minimalist white pleated skirt, with the hem outlined in yellow and black—simple yet far from monotonous. A highly distinctive feature of this white and yellow outfit is the asymmetrical leg design. One side features yellow-and-white striped long socks with a slouchy fit, which, combined with the black thigh ring, effectively draws visual focus to the leg lines. Meanwhile, the other side leaves the thigh bare, adding a touch of unique feminine, sexy vitality to the overall cute aesthetic. To capture the essence of the costume, I specifically chose to go barefoot for this shoot, giving the whole look that casual vibe from the original character design.

The shooting location was a studio with a pure white seamless infinity cyclorama. A white background is extremely friendly for an outfit with bright color blocks, as it maximizes the silhouette and tones of the costume. We used an even, soft lighting setup to avoid harsh shadows on the face and clothing, which also made the golden blonde wig look smoother and more radiant. The wig was specially styled, with the bangs parted slightly to the sides to reveal the eyebrows and eyes; together with the plush hood, it wonderfully frames and flatters the face shape. For makeup, I avoided heavy contouring, opting for a translucent base paired with slightly winged eyeliner to retain a hint of girlish sweetness.

For posing, the standing pose in the first photo is a classic method for displaying the full-body styling; slightly raising an arm while bending a knee captured the dynamic side of the costume. The second photo, sitting on a white cubic pedestal, leans more toward expressing a relaxed vibe. Running one hand through the hair with crossed legs and a naturally dropped center of gravity, this casual seated pose perfectly frames the layers of the pleated skirt and the asymmetrical leg details. To get closer to the character's persona, I tried to maintain a natural, confident, and slightly playful expression throughout the shoot.

We did encounter some minor challenges during the shoot. Because the jacket's material is on the thicker side while the inner wear is a crop top, it got a bit stuffy during the indoor studio shoot. Therefore, the plush hood often had to be held in hand or supported by one arm to prevent sweat on the forehead from ruining the makeup. Nevertheless, the final photos turned out very satisfying. For these 2D characters, translating flat 2D color combinations into realistic 3D material textures is a comprehensive test of costume craftsmanship and post-production lighting. This time, the yellow and white colorway looked exceptionally clean and eye-catching against the white background; rather than causing visual clutter, the color blocking created excellent layering. The overall style presented in this set is sheer and breezy, perfectly aligning with the candid and direct charm conveyed by Eleg in Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
