This pure white oath styling for Shimoe Koharu fulfilled one of my long-held wishes. The first feeling upon putting on this outfit was how lightweight yet gorgeous it felt, with the overall design full of details. The cutout tailoring and silver edge decorations at the chest, coupled with the pink flower right at the center, provide a very rich sense of layering. The skirt hem is stacked with multi-layered ruffles, and even a slight turn brings out an intense spatial sense. To faithfully restore the character traits, I deliberately matched it with a pink-orange twin-tail wig featuring a dark blue gradient at the hair ends, and specially adjusted the angle of the pink halo prop on top of the head to ensure a floating effect can be captured from various camera angles.

A lot of thought was also put into arranging the shooting venue, selected as an indoor space with classical European elements. The white Roman columns in the background, intricate window frame carvings, and those well-spaced arches fit the temperament of this pure white oath dress exceptionally well. The lighting design on site was mainly cold white and pink ambient light, and the photographer had extremely precise control over the backlight position, letting a hazy, dreamy feel shine through when hitting the skirt hem and hair strands.

To present better visual effects, this Guangzhou cosplay photography session designed quite a few dynamic and static poses. In the standing photo, the flying of the skirt hem was captured with the help of an on-site blower used by the assistant, while the right leg was slightly lifted to better showcase the lines of the white over-the-knee socks and the matching high heels. Actions like holding the bouquet with both hands and touching the headpiece were also meant to keep hand postures from looking too stiff. In the subsequent photos sitting on the ground, taking off one high heel and placing it beside added a sense of casualness, with the bouquet placed right at the folds of the skirt as an embellishment.

The dark blue feather decorations are a major highlight of this styling, echoing each other at the waist sides and hair ends. In the sitting pose, the dark blue feather props behind and the white skirt hem formed a strong color contrast. In terms of makeup, to match the pink hair and purple contact lenses, the eye makeup chose pink-purple tones, making the overall makeup soft and unified, and keeping the lip color as elegant as possible to avoid stealing focus from the main styling center.

During the shooting process, adjusting the shape of the skirt hem took the most time because there were too many layers, and every single layer needed to be smoothed out, otherwise it would look bulky in photos. Fortunately, the lighting and venue coordination on that day were extremely high, shooting from morning to afternoon, and the changes in light and shadow also brought different textures. These photos record the entire preparation and shooting process—from costume customization to prop making, and every shutter click on site, which is a concrete presentation of my understanding of the character.
