[Chisa cosplay] Wuthering Waves Industrial Ruin Style: A Cool and Captivating Take with Red Eyes and a Greatsword

Our first official shoot after getting the Viltrox 50mm f/1.4 Pro was locked in for Chisa from Wuthering Waves. To capture the character's detached yet perilous presence, hair and makeup preparation demanded extensive care. I chose crimson contact lenses with high translucency, paired with deep reddish eyeshadow shading and blending, finishing with a delicate black mole dotted beneath the left eye. For the wig, I selected dense, sleek black locks, personally cutting the blunt bangs and hime-cut sidelocks, then tying slender red ribbons on both sides so they fluttered naturally in motion. The wardrobe combined a classic sailor suit beneath an oversized grey-blue techwear jacket. The jacket's zippers, buckles, and translucent plastic paneling offered tactile depth, complemented by a white lanyard ID badge that accentuated the clash between school uniform and sci-fi utility. The lower half consisted of a dark pleated miniskirt, sheer Black stockings, and brownish-black chunky loafers. Amidst the industrial terrain, the bright red neckerchief served as a brilliant visual accent.

The most demanding element to manage was the colossal weapon prop. Crafted in black, red, and gold with a central golden gear and concentric rings, engraved scale markings along the edges, and trailing white tassels alongside red bows, its physical presence was immense. The solid weight tested my stamina during posing; whether wielding it single-handedly or dragging it across the ground, core engagement was essential. The chosen location was a derelict industrial ruin—towering concrete blocks, rusted steel scaffolding, and yellow caution railings mirrored Chisa's ruthless aesthetic. To highlight the sheer texture of the Black stockings and the lines of my legs, I experimented with sitting atop guardrails and crouching near wooden crates, leveraging elevation drops on stone rubble to elongate visual proportions. Shooting on the Sony A7R3 with the 50mm f/1.4 Pro yielded creamy bokeh and razor-sharp focal clarity. On set, side-rim lighting and cool-toned key lights were used; post-processing retained high red saturation while crushing distracting background colors and boosting contrast, letting the red eyes, neckerchief, and weapon trims command visual focus.

Collaborating with photographer Ayaki was seamless, thanks to extensive communication regarding posing and emotional tone. To preserve an imposing sense of pressure, I kept my gaze sharp, sustaining a combat-ready tension even in seated poses. Dust across the ruins frequently smudged my clothes and hem, yet this grit lent an authentic post-apocalyptic grain to the frames. Hauling props, styling, and refining poses was physically draining. When posing, the greatsword was both a heavy burden and an incredible compositional anchor; slinging it over my shoulder or dragging it while kneeling on one knee disrupted visual symmetry to forge intense dramatic tension. Without relying on complex VFX, the interplay of light and environment effectively conveyed the character's composure and resolve in battle. Seeing the finalized shots made every bit of fatigue vanish, and I look forward to exploring more diverse characters in the future.
