[Phoebe Cosplay] White-Clad Maiden of Wuthering Waves: July 26th Convention Photos Finally Finished!

This set of Phoebe Convention photos was taken on July 26th at the IJOY anime convention; after dragging my feet for a few days, I've finally finished retouching all nine photos.

The outfit has quite a lot of details. The blue cross hair clip and black-and-gold striped bow on the wide-brimmed white hat serve as finishing touches. The top features a loose, slightly royal court-inspired design, pairing a black high collar with gold embroidery, and cuffs printed with small serial-number-style lettering trimmed with black lace stitching. Complemented by a vibrant blue long cape adorned with golden starburst patterns, it offers rich visual layering. For the lower body, a black pleated skirt with gold stripes was paired with over-the-knee white boots, whose blue ribbons and gold accents nicely echoed the blue-and-white color palette of the top, bringing the overall color key to white, blue, black, and gold.

For hair and makeup, I wore a long golden-yellow curly wig with blue contact lenses. To fit the character's aloof demeanor, the makeup was kept light, focusing on a clear, translucent base and subtle eyeshadow blending. Under convention lighting and camera flashes, the hair strands showed a lovely sheen.

The set design was a massive highlight for this shoot. A white iron bench paired with floor-length white sheer curtains in the background, along with artfully arranged yellow-and-white flowers and greenery, created a translucent, pure greenhouse garden ambiance. The large white plush animal prop on the right stole the show, adding a splash of vibrant color with its red scarf and pink flowers against the pure white backdrop, while a white wire birdcage on the left kept the composition engaging.

We tried several different poses during Cosplay photography. Sitting on the iron bench holding a bouquet of lilies looked poised and elegant; reclining sideways with legs raised on the bench back highlighted the sleek lines of the White thigh-highs outfit and tall boots, delivering a relaxed, casual vibe; there were also kneeling poses looking back over the shoulder and sitting cross-legged with a glass. The kneeling backward glance in particular showcased the drape and tailoring details on the back of the blue cape. Shooting went smoothly; the white base tone reflected light well, capturing soft facial contours without needing heavy side fill light.

Post-processing didn't involve drastic edits, mainly unifying the color white balance. Due to complex ambient light with white drapes and plants, the color temperature was pulled slightly cooler to make the white clothes and blue cape look cleaner, while highlights were compressed to preserve fabric texture. Edge greenery and artificial flowers received subtle color grading so the greens wouldn't jump out and steal visual focus from the character. Natural folds of the white sheer curtains were intentionally kept during post-processing, giving the image a realistic live-action texture rather than a plastic feel. While bright, fresh color tones look gorgeous, initial scene decoration demands immense detail work.

This shooting and retouching experience met my expectations. Pairing white garments with high-saturation blue elements can easily lead to overexposure or color separation in studio settings, but fortunately, the convention's ambient light combined with post-production color correction achieved a great sense of atmosphere, drawing a perfect close to my July convention trip.
