[Misaki cosplay] Blue Archive: Sun Clearing After the Rain, This Fluffy Cardigan Truly Keeps Out the Cold

Right after the shoot wrapped up, the rain had just stopped, leaving behind a noticeable damp chill. Fortunately, the outfit prepared for this session was warm enough—the white plush cardigan kept out much of the cold air. Still, standing by the rooftop wire mesh fence, a slight breeze was enough to send a shiver through me, making me miss bright, sunny days.

This time, I chose to do a Ryuge Kisaki Misaki cosplay from Blue Archive, focusing on a casual academy style. A white collared shirt with a grey tie, paired with a grey pleated miniskirt, white stockings, and brown loafers creates a clean and crisp aesthetic. I particularly love the white fuzzy cardigan in this ensemble; it adds warmth and softness to the uniform styling, nicely balancing the visual weight of the deep navy-black double bun wig. The crescent horns and hair buns were also carefully angled to look natural on camera.

For props, I chose a clear long-handle umbrella and a regular bottle of water. Before the shoot, I was worried the rain might pour, but it stopped just in time. Holding the closed clear umbrella gave off a casual, relaxed vibe of someone stepping out of the rain to take a rest. Standing on an escalator or leaning against the wire mesh, the transparent umbrella added layers to the composition. The water bottle and small black crossbody bag further enhanced the slice-of-life realism.

The camera setup this time was an X-S20 paired with a Viltrox 56mm f/1.2 lens. The lens's creamy bokeh is truly outstanding; especially during the escalator shots, the metallic steps blurred out softly, beautifully isolating the subject. For shots in front of the rooftop's blue corrugated sheet metal, the bright, clear lighting combined with the lines of the wire mesh created clean framing. This blend of subtle industrial modernism and grey-white cosplay styling produced a visually pleasing contrast.

Posing focused largely on spontaneous, candid captures—drinking water by the railing, clasping hands in a playful bow, or holding the shoulder bag while flashing a peace sign. The goal was to keep movements looking natural and lively rather than rigidly staged. I especially love the shot on the escalator with my legs slightly crossed at an angle; paired with the skin-brightening look of the white stockings, it visually elongated the leg line and made the overall silhouette look much crisper.

Although shooting in the cool post-rain weather required some endurance, the final photo texture turned out very satisfying, capturing that cool, translucent atmosphere throughout. It also made me miss the bright, sunny, light-filled days of summer. However, the damp, chilly weather paired with the fluffy white coat created a uniquely cozy contrast. In any case, capturing this Ryuge Kisaki look was completely worth the effort.
