[Cartethyia Cosplay] Dedicated to the New World: Wuthering Waves Concert Look is Purely Holy

This concert look for Cartethyia Cosplay was actually my very first time shooting Night photography outdoors at SKP. I had always heard the nighttime fountain lighting there was amazing, but I never dared to go because of heavy weekend foot traffic. This time, I truly made up my mind to capture the "saintly" aura in my heart, no matter how crowded it was.

On the day of the shoot, the scene was indeed as packed as expected—especially around the fountain steps, filled with parents bringing kids to play in the water, strolling couples, and crowds. Finding an angle where I could stand comfortably while capturing that ethereal sense took quite a bit of effort. We spent a lot of time scouting location spots early on, eventually finding a camera position that both avoided cluttered crowds and beautifully framed the massive blue water jets and fountain waterfalls in the background.

Regarding this look, the primary white and blue color scheme seamlessly matched the divine and holy demeanor inherent in this costume. To recreate the character's lightweight, ethereal vibe, I did a lot of preparation for wig styling; if long light-golden hair lacks fluffiness or appears frizzy, it heavily ruins the overall aura. Furthermore, what satisfied me most about this dress was the flowing transparent gauze fabric—not only draping naturally while walking, but on a breezy night plaza, its flutter in the wind created fantastic dynamic effects without any forced posing. This time, incorporating a White thigh-highs outfit with subtle lace floral patterns, paired with high-heeled boots featuring silver rhinestones and metallic sheen, visually elongated leg proportions significantly. Under the night sky and reflected in puddle reflections on the ground, it presented an atmosphere of being immersed in a dreamy realm of water.

For photography, I collaborated once again with photographer @Mr.Huang~Lingguang, who deeply understood the "saintly" yet subtly melancholic and resolute feeling I wanted to capture. Nighttime fountain lighting actually produces high-saturation cool blue-cyan tones, which easily turns face skin tones dull or harsh if cast directly. Photographer Huang applied superb fill lighting techniques to balance top light with side cool ambient light, keeping my face radiant and natural while giving hair strands and skirt hems an effect of being washed in ambient light. The post-processing color atmosphere didn't stray excessively from reality either, merely enhancing the hazy blur of water ripples and mist, making me truly appreciate the magic of post-processing in this Anime cosplay project.

When I posted this on Moments, many people asked if it was taken at a comic convention. In truth, doing outdoor sessions around urban landmarks feels much more dynamic and lifelike than indoor studio shoots. Although finishing an intense outdoor session—walking back and forth on steps while managing camera angles and dodging passersby—was thoroughly exhausting, and shoe soles were soaked through standing in puddles, seeing the final photos made all the hard work feel completely worth it. I hope this restoration of character disposition brings everyone a touch of the inspiring power belonging to "Dedicated to the New World" through the screen.
