[Hiyuki Cosplay] The Ice/Snow-themed Girl in Wuthering Waves: This Outfit's Details Are Such a Test for the Photographer! - Image 1

When shooting this Hiyuki set, the biggest headache for me was the snap button design of this costume. As you can see in the photos, because the movements were slightly large, the snaps on the chest kept bursting open. The female photographer had to stop and help me re-fasten them almost every two shots, so the entire process was a battle of wits against these buttons. However, it was precisely because of this "disobedient" outfit that we captured this relaxed feeling with a touch of messy beauty.

This time, the wig was meticulously teased and layered, so the hair strands have a fine silver shimmer under the flash. For the makeup, I intentionally lowered the saturation of the eyeshadow and used a purple-toned blush to echo the starry-sky gradient color on the costume. The tachi sword prop was hand-polished, and adjusting the wrapping cord on the hilt took two hours, making the weight distribution very comfortable to hold in hand.

In fact, over my years of doing cosplay, I feel more and more that accuracy isn't just about the appearance, but more about the physical memory when putting on the outfit. For example, in this crouching and head-turning movement, the drape of the skirt and the tightness of the belt have to be just right, otherwise the captured posture will look stiff. This time we chose an indoor studio shoot, using blue-purple side-lighting to create that chilly, ice-crystal atmosphere. Almost no color grading was done in post-processingโ€”it was entirely thanks to the on-site lighting. Although the shooting process was a bit chaotic, seeing the tiny folds and the curves of the hair strands in the final results makes it feel completely worth it.
