Preparing this Bride cosplay look took longer than expected, especially the floral accents on the veil and the golden tassel embellishments at the waist. Sitting in front of the piano in this gown made turning around quite tricky due to the massive train, so finding the right angles during shooting was essential. The white gown paired with White stockings and platform high heels took quite a toll on my feet, but it genuinely recreated that regal palace aesthetic. The polearm weapon was also rather heavy; holding it aloft with one hand for even a few minutes left my arm aching, but I powered through for the sake of the composition.
For this shoot, we mainly selected an outdoor piano terrace. The glossy black piano created sharp reflections that, when combined with the historic stone architecture in the background, established a cool-toned palette. Balanced with the warm golden accents on the costume, the resulting atmosphere felt soft and gentle. During the shoot, the photographer specifically had me adjust my over-the-shoulder angle to maintain graceful back curves while ensuring the piano bench didn't obstruct the cascade of the train. Because the gown was quite heavy, I had to keep a forward-leaning posture on the stool, repeatedly fine-tuning the leg positioning across dozens of takes to pick out the best shots.
There happened to be a gentle breeze, and the moment the veil fluttered in the wind paired with my side-profile expression turned out very natural. White lace combined with a voluminous train gets dirty very easily, so I had to be extra cautious with the hem whenever shooting the lower body. The sheer weight of the props and costume turned this Outdoor photography session into a test of physical stamina and endurance, but seeing the play of light and shadow in the final photos made it completely worthwhile. Shooting outdoors meant light changed quickly—sometimes clouds obscured the sun, requiring us to reposition—yet natural light truly offers richer depth than a studio. Overall, this shoot deepened my understanding of the textures and details of this costume, and I look forward to shooting in different environments in the future.
