Trick or treat! Naturally, the Halloween vibe needed to be brought to the absolute maximum. This time, my partner and I shot a Halloween-themed dual photoshoot of Lisa cosplay and Klee Cosplay from Genshin Impact. Since we decided to do this look, we absolutely couldn't skimp on the details. Lisa's iconic purple wide-brimmed hat, coupled with its dramatic pleated design, really tested head fixation. I used multiple steel bobby pins for internal support and locked my hair firmly with an invisible hairnet to ensure the hat wouldn't tilt or lose center of gravity when turning or bowing my head. The dark navy-black mini dress fit the body closely, and the fabric rose decorations on the chest were all hand-glued, embellishing the neckline to elevate the overall sense of opulence. Paired with thigh-high black socks in this Black tights outfit, it indeed succeeded in visually lengthening body proportions in front of the lens, making the styling look both elegant and distinctive. My partner cosplayed Klee, wearing her iconic clover cadet cap and pointed ear props to emulate elf ears. Over a white lace skirt, she wore a loose orange hooded coat, which, combined with the glowing cylindrical prop in her hand, brought out her lively and adorable nature remarkably well. The color contrast of these costumes was quite intriguing—the clashing dark blue and orange, set off by the red sofa, combined vintage Halloween mystery with Genshin Impact's inherent fairytale atmosphere. In set arrangement, we specifically chose a red velvet sofa steeped in European vintage flair as the main backdrop, complemented by white lace curtains and dark green side drapes, creating a magical attic vibe. On the tabletop and nearby cart, vintage metallic candlesticks, candles, and dark-covered books were placed, looking full of texture under the warm yellow lights. The biggest challenge during the shoot was our interactive coordination. Many poses required staying still for a moment for precise focus—such as both of us holding a book together or her leaning against my leg—requiring mutual angle adjustments to look natural rather than stiff. Especially with poses requiring close proximity alongside intricate skirt hems and accessories, a slight movement could snag costume details. For post-processing color grading, we chose to maintain a warm orange-yellow tone so all lighting blended together, presenting a cinematic narrative feel. Since the theme was Halloween's 'Trick or Treat,' although no candy was placed in the final photos, I specifically selected a warmer, yellower color temperature for candle props, wanting to render a cozy yet fantastical Halloween night mood. Cosplay is never just about changing outfits to take pictures; it's about capturing a frozen moment of a beloved character in your heart, and completing this process with a partner elevates the overall completion to another level. Duo cosplayers' synergy must show in mirroring eyes and movements, and I'm thrilled we found our rhythm this time. Although wearing such complex attire for hours was exhausting and thigh-high sock marks were clearly visible after taking them off, being able to present a work like this during the Halloween month brought an immense sense of fulfillment.
