[Baizhu cosplay] CP31 Traditional Chinese Style Convention Photos: Flowing Green in Modern Architecture

The Convention photos for my Genshin Impact Baizhu cosplay at CP31 are in—huge thanks to the photographer for retouching well into the middle of the night! This look wasn't a standard custom set, but entirely styled by myself. The chosen green fabric features an innate shimmer; under the natural light filtering through the terminal building's glass canopy, the light reflection was ideal, with a luster far exceeding expectations. Because we shot from an ultra-low wide-angle upward perspective, Changsheng around my neck was unfortunately blocked by the wide sleeves—I originally planned to showcase it, but sadly it wasn't captured in frame. To complement the grand sense of scale from this low-angle perspective, I specifically practiced folding-fan postures and one-arm horizontal extensions. Since Baizhu has an introverted, reserved temperament, as a female cosplayer depicting him, I needed to lower my center of gravity and minimize feminine softness to give the photos a commanding aura.

During shooting, because the venue featured large areas of white and gray tones with me centered, contrast required post-processing calibration. Teacher Qiu Bai specifically preserved and enhanced the delicate shimmering silk texture of the Green Hanfu while lowering background brightness to make the subject pop. On site, to achieve a natural billowing sleeve effect, I swung my sleeves over a dozen times to capture the most expansive flutter. This outfit turned a lot of heads walking through the convention hall, but shooting in transit hubs like subway stations genuinely tested lighting, requiring reflectors for fill light combined with wide-angle lens distortion to create the flying fabric effect. The structure of this self-styled Hanfu is quite intricate, especially with significant drag from the skirt hem and long sleeves; after a full day of shooting, I was completely exhausted. But seeing the finished Convention photos sent over in the middle of the night made putting this whole look together feel deeply rewarding. For makeup, paired with the green wig, I used cool-toned eyeshadow, elongated eyeliner, and sculpted jawline shading to match the character's detached coolness on camera. I hope this creative cosplay attempt earns everyone's appreciation!
