[Raiden Shogun Cosplay] Inazuma's Lightning and Narukami's Daily Life

I've finally found time to edit and post this set of park outdoor photos taken with Yae Miko!

Doing Raiden Shogun cosplay and Yae Miko cosplay, we always wanted to shoot a set that felt casual and relaxed. Although in lore they are major figures in Inazuma, their private interactions are often much more relaxed and vivid than in formal settings. Instead of indoor studio shooting, we specifically chose a waterfront outdoor walkway, leveraging natural light and layered greenery to create a "strolling" atmosphere after setting aside majesty.

Regarding costumes, we made many tailoring adjustments to balance outdoor mobility with accuracy. The purple garment and the white-and-red outfit presented a completely different texture under soft skylight compared to harsh studio lights—without excessive glare, looking instead quite grounded and refined. Hair and headpiece fixation required significant effort; particularly for the Raiden Shogun's signature thick braid, we used weighted hair cores and hidden clips to keep its natural hanging curve while walking. Yae Miko's golden fox-ear headpiece also needed anti-wobble stabilization, which we tested several times to ensure it wouldn't tilt during movement.

Those "playful tripping" gestures in the photos were actually spur-of-the-moment ideas. Usually, when shooting two people walking away from the camera, walking side by side is the most common approach, but we felt that was too formulaic. After walking back and forth a few times, as the Raiden Shogun cosplayer, I intentionally lifted my hemline slightly while walking forward to reveal my black-stockinged legs, subtly sticking out a foot to playfully block my companion's steps or nudge her gently. This playful daily teasing felt far more natural than rigid posing and captured the unique bond of the Narukami Group. We basically walked at our own pace while the photographer used a telephoto lens from behind to take continuous candid shots, making the captured movements fluid and relaxed.

The challenge of outdoor shoots lies in unpredictable environmental factors. Although it was an overcast day with low UV rays, the muggy heat was still intense. Heavy fabrics combined with high-heeled sandals and intricate headpieces drained our physical stamina and core strength, placing constant pressure on our necks and shoulders. Walking back and forth several times naturally brought fatigue, but seeing the sunlight filter through green trees onto the water surface and catch the edges of our outfits made every bit of effort worth it. The overall mood of this set is super comforting. Sharing these photos acts as a record of our hard work, and I hope these small tips and detail adjustments offer inspiration for fellow fans doing similar Anime cosplay outdoor location shoots!
