This time, I shot the "Red plum blossoms in the snow" theme for Ganyu Cosplay and Shenhe cosplay together with @你的阿药. We chose a Chinese classical-style studio. Elements like wooden folding screens, red plum blossom branches, oil-paper umbrellas, and birdcages come together perfectly to match the cool yet gentle temperament of the two characters.
As for the costumes, we specifically chose styles adorned with plush trims and red strings, which added a winter atmosphere while retaining the characters' original color schemes (Ganyu's blue-and-white, Shenhe's black-white-and-gray). Shenhe's white shawl and my fur collar are both very suitable for this theme. Furthermore, we made detailed adjustments to the wigs and makeup—such as Shenhe's white eyelashes and my light blue eyeshadow—hoping to be closer to the charm of the original character design in Genshin Impact.
The photographer's lighting setup was very clever; the rim lighting shining on the oil-paper umbrella and hair strands gave the frame a great sense of layering and transparency, and the bright colors of the red plum blossoms were especially eye-catching against the low-key background. During the shooting process, we also experimented with different interactive poses, ranging from the elegance of standing side-by-side holding the umbrella to a relaxed, lazy feel while sitting down. Combined with the subtle reflection on the floor, the overall texture of the image feels very comfortable.
I truly put a lot of thought into organizing this photo set, continuously refining everything from the placement of props to the exchange of gazes. I hope this winter memento belonging to Liyue can bring everyone a different visual experience through this piece of Cosplay photography.
