[Ganyu Cosplay] Leisurely Moments of Lantern Rite and Genshin Impact's Overtime Curse

This set of Ganyu Lantern Rite cosplay photos shot at the Wadaxi Cosplay Selfie Studio in Shenzhen during the National Day holiday had a closely connected workflow from early planning to final image completion. The rich Chinese solid wood furniture and light blue ink-wash screen backdrop in the selfie studio perfectly recreated the Eastern classical atmosphere required for this outfit. Before shooting, we prepared a white porcelain vase with plum blossom branches, as well as a white porcelain wine pot and small cups on a wooden tray—these compact everyday props were great for crafting a leisurely and tranquil artistic vibe.

Costume details particularly stood out under retouches and lighting: black semi-transparent mesh spliced with a blue modified cheongsam-style cut, finished with bells and gold embellishments at the neckline, gave off an ethereal charm without being overly elaborate. During the shoot, photographer Xiaoshu Linfeng was exceptionally skilled at capturing expressions; actions like leaning on the desk resting eyes, or sitting on a mahogany armchair flipping through ancient books, precisely conveyed the character's lazy yet contemplative nature.

Regarding lighting, we chose softer diffuse light sources to reduce harsh shadows, making the overall texture closer to the wash effect of ink painting. Base makeup was kept light and thin, with warm red tones used in the eye makeup to enhance the subject's complexion, paired with light blue fluffy wig styling to create a comfortable color contrast. In post-processing, retoucher Huazhizhi fine-tuned the color tone toward a cool, sophisticated aesthetic, preserving the depth of blue, black, and white without excessive skin smoothing or liquefying, thus maintaining the original texture of the clothing and the fluffiness of the hair.

However, there's a funny phenomenon: every time after cosplaying Ganyu, real life always ushers in a particularly busy period. Returning to Chengdu after the holiday, I truly worked a solid week of overtime, to the point that I didn't dare lightly accept booking requests for this character for a long time! Although we joke about Ganyu having an overtime curse, seeing the final photos of this work makes me feel that this slightly exhausted yet scholarly lazy state actually aligns well with the character's own personality. The process of shooting this set involved a lot of research into prop/makeup preparation details and body posture nuances, making it overall a high-quality creative experience in cosplay photography.
