[Lumine Cosplay] Genshin Impact: To a New World - Image 1

The costume design for this shoot heavily emphasizes the character's lightness and pure temperament on her journey. The main color palette utilizes a large area of pure white, accented with metallic gold lines. This minimalist approach allows the visual focus to be more concentrated.

The skin exposure around the shoulders and neck is just right, breaking up the heaviness of the high-collar design while showcasing a unique beauty through the curves of the neck and collarbone. The square-shaped iridescent gem on the chest is the crowning touch of the entire look. Instead of being a flat decoration, it reflects shimmering colors from different angles, adding an agile energy to the white outfit. To capture this ethereal vibe, a lot of thought went into styling the wig. The golden hair strands were trimmed in multiple layers to create fluffy air bangs, with a few strands of loose hair intentionally left hanging on both sides to nicely frame the face and soften the facial contours.

For the eye makeup, I adapted it to the warm undertones of the costume, choosing golden-brown contact lenses to echo the overall gold-and-white color scheme. The eyeliner was drawn to elongate the outer corners of the eyes, shaping a gentle yet powerful expression. The lip makeup avoided overly high-saturation colors, using a lip glaze that naturally matches the skin tone to ensure the entire face looked clean and transparent.

As for the structural details of the costume, the sleeves are one of the most distinctive parts of the entire outfit. They are very wide, appearing somewhat like a variation of lantern sleeves. The upper part of the sleeves retains the white-base, gold-patterned design, while the wrist area uses a patchwork technique, replacing the fabric with a gray-brown color embossed with a clear geometric grid texture. The cuffs at the wrists are decorated with metallic buttons, giving the sleeves a clear structural sense even when draping. During the shoot, because the sleeves were quite loose, I needed to raise my hands slightly to showcase their flowing texture, while also utilizing the fabric folds to create contrast between light and shadow.

This overall ensemble is not overly complex in structure, but it demands high quality in decorative details. The gold borders on the shoulders, the inside of the collar, and the chest utilize a combination of high-density embroidery and digital printing to ensure the metallic sheen looks sufficiently realistic. To improve comfort, the inner lining uses a skin-friendly fabric with good elasticity, which is very important in practice as it supports a wide range of body movements without losing its shape.

During the shooting process for this photo, a soft side light source was chosen to create highlights on the bright side and shadows on the dark side, perfectly revealing the silky texture of the white fabric while allowing the gem to reflect the surrounding environment's colors for a rich, layered effect. The character's expression was set to a close-up selfie perspective, leaning towards showing a sense of quiet confidence.

Although I prepared many wigs and different top accessories from the initial look-test to the actual shoot, I ultimately chose this set because it offered the best balance across all dimensions. As an attempt at anime cosplay, I hoped to convey a resilient yet gentle visual impression through the synergy of makeup and costume in this Genshin Impact cosplay. Every time I try a new style, I gain a lot of experience from the expressiveness of different materials and structures, and this time was no exception.
