[Remielle cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's dark Gothic style interpretation

Beneath the interwoven red and black curtains, this Remielle cosplay is officially presented. Ever since I decided to shoot this styling from "Zenless Zone Zero", I have been pondering how to restore that texture which is both magnificent and carries a hint of danger. When I first received this black-and-white colored corset, the details pleasantly surprised me; metallic zippers and white cross-stars adorned on the black leather created a strong visual impact. To match the dark Gothic style, I deliberately chose a fluorescent-toned pink wig, with the black bow and red ribbon on top of the head serving as the finishing touch, adding a pop of vibrant color to the cold, rigid black-and-white tones.

Carrying this pair of huge black wings was the most exhausting part of the shoot. Although the feather material is realistic, its volume and weight are substantial. To appear lightweight in front of the lens, I adjusted my posture multiple times. When sitting, I needed to slightly straighten my back, letting the wings drape naturally or spread slightly as shown in the photos. When standing, I needed to tighten my core and utilize the center of gravity of the high heels to try to present an arrogant yet elegant posture. The scene arrangement was done with great care; Sijun set up a red curtain background that gives off a strong theater stage feel. The golden empty photo frames hanging from the top and a few white pigeons formed a sharp visual contrast with the black wings. The white plaster pillars, golden birdcage, and warm yellow kerosene lamp on the ground enriched the spatial layers. Especially that birdcage—sitting next to it gave a silent narrative feel in relation to the flying white pigeon.

The warm-toned lighting on the day of the shoot was something I really liked; hitting the face, it highlighted the makeup texture well while also outlining the leg lines of the black stockings more clearly. The combination of black garter stockings and platform high heels visually elongated the leg proportions, though standing shoots truly test foot strength. Every time I changed poses, I tried my best to extend my leg lines along the direction of the lens so that the final photos would appear slender. Zhizhi's expressive power in front of the lens was very steady; we cooperated to adjust our actions multiple times, from the low-angle upward standing pose, to the downward kneeling pose, and to sitting sideways on the stone platform, hoping to showcase different facets of the character. While preparing this cosplay, I not only focused on the costume's accuracy, but cared even more about expressing the character's unique atmosphere.

Although the entire shooting process was tiring, seeing the finished photos made it all feel worth it. In terms of makeup, I intentionally emphasized the red-toned eyeshadow to echo the red elements on the outfit. Because the lighting leaned warm, both contouring and highlighting were intensified. The wig styling was also repeatedly groomed to ensure the top of the head stayed fluffy. Midway through, due to the swaying of the wings, the wig was prone to getting messy, requiring constant touch-ups and adjustments. Although the white pigeon prop was merely a static object, placing it in specific locations added a vivid vitality. Amidst the interlacing light and shadow, dark Gothic and retro elements collided into a strong visual effect, making this an unforgettable creative experience. Every press of the shutter is a brand-new interpretation of the character, and I hope these tension-filled images allow everyone to experience a different sense of story.
