This photo set was taken in a retro-tech studio where the overall atmosphere perfectly matched the character setting. Wearing Jane Doe's iconic gear and stepping into a space surrounded by vintage CRT monitors, keyboards, and electronic instruments immediately immersed me into the role of a hacker or mechanic. The post caption teased "You're about to get caught by this little rat~", so during the shoot I deliberately captured some lazy yet playful moments—such as a close-up lying on the desk looking up at the lens, or raising a hand while seated in the gaming chair.
Let's talk about the outfit's details. The top is a black high-neck cropped piece with a choker-style collar accent and an eye-catching gradient red lightning motif across the chest. Over it is a loose metallic silver reflective jacket, which produces a wonderful metallic sheen under the desk lamp lighting. The garment design boasts high fidelity, preserving the core silhouette while incorporating the crisp, functional look of combat gear. The bottom features black biker-style shorts layered with multiple black leather buckle belts across the waist and thighs; the staggered strap design adds a hardcore edge while effectively elongating the leg lines.
For the legs, I wore sheer black tights for this black stockings cosplay. Under the dim desk lighting, the tights created an interplay of matte texture and sheen, making the lower body appear leaner and more layered. The hand detail features black fingerless leather gloves paired with deep red nail polish, exuding a cool and edgy vibe. The animal ear accessories on both sides of the head bring a cute contrast to this hardcore outfit, serving as one of the few adorable elements in the set.
Another memorable prop in this shoot was the thick, long light-grey cable with a red connector at the end, resembling a mechanical tail or data transmission line. Securing this cable so it appeared naturally attached to my side took considerable effort during the shoot—often falling off just as a pose was set—but the final photos captured its drape perfectly. For makeup, bright blue contact lenses were used to recreate the character's eye color, paired with a subtle reddish blend around the eyes and bold yet natural eyeliner, giving the gaze both a machine-like composure and a hint of youthful cunning.
The lighting setup was cleverly designed: the main light source came from a retro industrial desk lamp above the table. The strong spotlight illuminated my figure while casting cluttered cables and background clutter into shadows, creating a deep, mysterious cyberpunk cosplay atmosphere. On the left side of the frame, professional knobs and indicator light panels added to the realism of the scene. Although preparation was a bit tedious, everything from capturing the character's subtle expressions to integrating with the cyber-tech setting achieved the intended result, fully showcasing the unique charm of this character.
