During early discussions with the photographer for this Remielle cosplay shoot, we placed great emphasis on capturing the character's mysterious temperament. For hair and makeup, I chose a pink wig paired with red-and-black bows and elf ear props. The costume features a predominantly black color palette with gothic elements, including a white inner collar, sheer mesh fabrics across the chest and sleeves, and visible zipper accents. The skirt flare and the black feathered wings on my back were the core of this look; during the shoot, we had to be especially careful not to let the wings obstruct the light, as the visual impact relied heavily on the extension and span of both wings and skirt.
The location was chosen along a street by a building with blue window frames, where the natural light beautifully outlined the silhouette, and the slanted sunlight added rich layers of dimension to the frame. From a composition perspective, photo two features a waist-up standing pose, gently resting a hand on the chin while glancing aside; this motion, paired with over-the-knee Black stockings and black high heels, accentuated the leg lines wonderfully. Photo three is a full-body shot by the window, and photo four captures a walking glance over the shoulder by the roadside, intended to convey the character's dynamic fluidity within an urban setting. To showcase her slice-of-life presence in Zenless Zone Zero, we specifically bought four cups of drinks in different colors as props, three of which were used for playful interactions in the raw shots. In particular, the setup in photo one seated with three drinks tested arm balance quite a bit—because the wings are huge, sitting down easily squished them, and juggling facial expressions, sitting posture, and multiple props quickly became tiring. Regarding wearing Stockings, to ensure optimal visual elegance, I took care to keep them completely smooth and flat to prevent unnatural wrinkles on camera.
This shoot was a deep, faithful recreation based on character interpretation: her blend of languor and subtle vigilance required careful coordination of head tilts and fingertip poise. In my Photography routine, I like to review the raw image after each shot to adjust costume details promptly—such as fixing the star motif on the chest or tweaking the tension of the thigh straps—ensuring every detail looks flawless on camera. The photographer's hard-light handling was also brilliant; under direct sunlight, facial contours looked sculpted and prop textures stood out vividly. Harsh light is notoriously tricky because it easily casts severe facial shadows, but we utilized the contrast of light and shadow to heighten the character's mysterious aura. The black outfit didn't look dull under the sun; rather, it formed a striking contrast with the pink hair. Styling with wings was naturally more exhausting than everyday characters, as every move required cautious awareness of the prop behind me, but to achieve a flawless visual standard, all the effort was thoroughly worth it. Throughout the shoot, we stayed in a very relaxed mood, just like enjoying an ordinary afternoon tea break; the milk tea props genuinely became our snacks, though we had to sip carefully to avoid staining the outfit. During breaks, we chatted about character lore and motion details in Zenless Zone Zero to better translate dynamic motion into static stills. This fusion of daily routine and fantasy imagery is the true portrait of Remielle in the world of Zenless Zone Zero in my heart.
