I finally completed shooting this Marisa Kirisame cosplay look, experimenting with a completely different vintage Lolita style this time. For the hat, I chose a wide-brimmed black top hat edged with intricate lace ruffles; wearing it required careful angle adjustments, otherwise it could easily block my line of sight or throw off head-to-body proportions. The blonde wig was styled with two small braids draping over the chest, which, paired with red contacts and reddish eye makeup, brought the overall makeup closer to an antique doll aesthetic.

The dimensional layering of the wardrobe was the primary focus of this shoot. The outer taupe plaid capelet had built-in shoulder pads; to flatter the neck and shoulder lines, I wore an inner layer featuring a high collar and extra-long flared lace sleeves underneath. This multilayered outfit looked visually rich, though shooting it in summer certainly demanded stamina. The black skirt for the lower half was paired with a white pleated underskirt, offering just the right skirt volume without looking overly exaggerated.

My favorite detail is the set of brown leather potion bottle holsters around my waist, holding miniature liquid vials in green and purple. To secure these little bottles, I looped clear fishing line twice around the back so they wouldn't fall no matter how I moved. Props with these alchemical touches align perfectly with Marisa Kirisame's persona in Touhou Project as a magician who loves collecting items and experimenting.

The shooting set was on a bed covered in floral sheets, backed by green sheer drapes and white lace curtains, with several large pink unicorn and white teddy bear plushies casually scattered across the mattress. For the first shot, I chose a side-sitting pose with legs crossed wearing black Stockings patterned with subtle butterfly motifs, resting one hand on the hat brim and glancing slightly downward to evoke a magician's languid state of pondering recipes or taking a breather. The butterfly pattern on the Stockings exhibited a matte finish under the lights without glare, harmonizing seamlessly with the overall vintage tones.

For the following two shots, I took off my shoes and stretched out barefoot on the bed. In the second photo, I leaned back against the plushies, reaching toward the camera to make the frame more interactive while showcasing the drape of the lace sleeves. In the third shot, I returned to a well-behaved sitting pose with hands folded neatly over my lap, fully displaying the layers of the skirt. To capture that porcelain doll-like delicacy, I specifically asked the photographer to reduce hard light and rely more on softboxes, preserving subtle facial shadows for dimensional depth to prevent overexposure from flattening my face.

In shaping the overall atmosphere, instead of opting for a conventional forest or dark castle, I brought the magician into a maidenly, everyday bedroom setting. This contrast brings the character to life, as if she has just finished a magical experiment and collapsed onto her bed to rest. The placement of props, the wig's fullness, the folds in the skirt—every tiny detail underwent repeated refinement, all to recreate a Marisa Kirisame who possesses both fantastical whimsy and the breath of everyday life.
