The retouched convention photos for this Remielle outfit are finally finished, so while the memories are still fresh, I wanted to document the shooting details from the convention floor.
The garment's design is exceptionally unique: a pure white base accented by pale blue and lavender ribbons and bows. The halter off-the-shoulder cut places high demands on shoulder and neckline contours, which is why I did targeted posture conditioning before the event. The front corset lacing and boning structure are very form-fitting; to look sharp on camera, I cinched them down tightly. The detached bell sleeves along the arms feature generous pleated draping, requiring constant alignment adjustments during the shoot to prevent them from tangling with the wings.
The element I had a true love-hate relationship with was the colossal pair of white feathered wings. Although visually breathtaking in the final edits, their actual mass was quite substantial. Coupled with the mounting harness strapped across my back, carrying them around the crowded convention hall was practically an endurance workout—my shoulders and lower back were under constant strain. To keep the wings from appearing rigid on camera, I continually redistributed my shoulder leverage and shifted my center of gravity under the photographer's guidance, allowing the feathers to flare outward with an organic, dynamic tension.
Styling the wig took considerable work as well. The pink bob cut needed to be brushed silky-smooth, with the star hair accessory and pale ribbon bow firmly anchored by bobby pins so they wouldn't drift while walking. For makeup, I intensified the eye contours, as convention ceiling downlights are notoriously chaotic; a slightly heavier makeup application actually reads far more naturally under harsh, overhead lighting.
The silver glitter high heels were quite tall—an absolute weapon for flattering photos, yet inflicting immense pressure on ankles and soles after standing for hours. Styling white over-the-knee stockings with garter straps meant constantly monitoring the stocking cuffs to keep lines along the thighs smooth without a single bunch or wrinkle. The crossed-leg standing posture in the first image was chosen to elongate leg lines in the frame while offering a brief reprieve from the strain of high heels.
The hall ceiling was crisscrossed with complex metal trusses and dense lighting grids, making backdrops prone to clutter. Photographer Master Chan was remarkably professional, dialing in angles and strobes to knock down the background exposure while lifting the subject's key light, making the white attire and wings stand out with pristine texture. I continually nudged my stance and facial angles relative to the light direction, chasing the mood that best embodied the character's demeanor.
From preparing garments and props to coordinating shots on set, the process was exhausting, but the moment I saw the finished photos, all fatigue melted away. This series preserved my authentic journey on the convention floor.
