[Diaochan Cosplay] Honor of Kings, That Touch of Dreamy Pink and White in the Exhibition Hall - Image 2

For the convention photos at this Tonghua Anime Exhibition, I chose the character styling of Diaochan from Honor of Kings, a character I have admired for a long time. From preparing this gear to finally standing in front of the lens, the process was far more trivial than expected, but it made me look forward to it even more. The costume is highly refined in terms of materials; the main body uses a patchwork of multiple layers of light yarn, softly blending pure white with a light pink gradient. The tube-top short dress design beautifully showcases the shoulder and neck lines, and the golden openwork floral decoration at the waist is the finishing touch, refracting a brilliant luster under the bright exhibition lighting. Paired with that pinky-finger-sized sapphire neck ornament at the collar, the sense of exquisiteness is instantly brought to the max. That huge pink bowknot on top of my head and the cat-ear-like pointed structures extending from both sides are among the most eye-catching markers of this styling, combined with the gold-inlaid gem forehead ornament cascading down, making the overall look retain classical softness while adding the unique agility of anime style. The white over-the-knee stockings on the lower body feature delicate vortex totem patterns, which look exceptionally translucent on the mirror-smooth floor of the exhibition hall when paired with that pair of high heels with transparent crystal heels.

On the day of the shoot, the venue layout was very thoughtful; not only were a large number of pink artificial flower petals scattered on the ground, but artificial cherry blossom branches were also suspended mid-air. To blend with this environment, I utilized the long thin tulle extending from the sleeve cuffs, as well as a pink lotus prop in hand as an embellishment. A total of two different standing poses were shot this time: the first photo chose a more proper standing posture, with the center of gravity placed on the right foot and arms elegantly unfolded outwards, letting the long sleeves drape naturally down. This completely showcases the silhouette, waistline, and shoe sole details of the entire costume, making the overall look elegant with a touch of ethereal vibe. The second photo changed into a more agile single-leg jumping pose, with one foot lifted high and hand movements made broader to capture that lightness unique to Diaochan as a dancer.

"Watch out, don't fall in love with me!"—this phrase, as the character's iconic voice line, gave me a lot of inspiration during the shoot. At the Fan Content Festival, the on-site atmosphere was fantastic, with fellow fans passing by constantly praising the costume and makeup. This is probably the greatest joy of anime-style photography and convention photos. Although wearing a costume with heavy decorations and transparent high heels for a whole afternoon inevitably caused sore legs and feet, being able to wear my favorite main hero's clothes and freeze my most confident side at such a bright exhibition scene brought a sense of achievement that was enough to cancel out all fatigue. As a personal record of doing cosplay, the results this time have already exceeded my expectations, and I hope this dedication can be passed on through the photos.
