Choosing to shoot this set of Sakura Matou photos in such a lush green forest was mainly to capture her quiet, introverted, and slightly melancholic temperament. The natural outdoor light filtering through the leaves onto my face felt very soft, creating an environment that allows for more relaxation and makes it easier to empathize with the character's mental state than in an indoor studio.
A lot of thought went into the hair and makeup this time. The purple-blue wig was carefully styled, especially the pink highlight on the left side, which showed rich color layers under natural light. The small pink flower hair accessory by the ear is not too ostentatious, yet perfectly accentuates a young girl's softness. To match Sakura Matou's presence, I deliberately adjusted the eye makeup to make the gaze look gentler with a hint of sorrow, while the reddish eye shadow and lip color nicely complemented the delicate feel over a pale foundation.
The outfit details are also worth highlighting. The white sleeveless lace top is very delicate with intricate lace textures. The wide black waistband and large black bow at the waist are the focal point of the overall styling, effectively cinching the waistline and adding a sense of depth and calmness to the white ensemble. The beige-white tulle skirt on the lower body is very airy, naturally flowing as I moved, and paired with lifting the skirt hem, it allowed for clean, dynamic lines in the shots.
The shooting process was very enjoyable. The photographer had me try various angles, and we finally chose this backward glance. Because Sakura Matou is naturally a character who evokes a desire to protect and carries a story filled with complex emotions, I immersed myself in that state in front of the lens, trying not to force a smile but instead conveying emotion through my eyes. Combined with the green leafy background, the overall tone of the photos appears bright yet carries a cool, serene mood.
Regarding the line 'Senpai, Merry Christmas' in the post, I believe friends familiar with Fate/stay night can feel the emotional bond within it. Even though there is no snow in this outdoor shoot, pairing it with those words conveys the character's gentleness and careful hesitation at that moment. The shooting atmosphere on the day was wonderful and everyone was very professional, capturing the character's distinct traits in every photo.
From preparing the wig and outfit to scouting locations, the entire process was somewhat tiring, but seeing the final results made it all worthwhile. This photo set embodies my personal interpretation of the character, and I hope to present her genuine tranquility and beauty through the lens.
