This photoshoot features a Headcanon / Original setting version of Remilia Scarlet from Touhou Project (Remilia cosplay). Since it is an original setting interpretation, it allowed for unique experimental attempts in styling while retaining the character's core features. Short blue hair, crimson eyes, and bat wings on the back were essential elements; the red contact lenses had subtle reflective shimmer paired with a very pale foundation, giving the gaze that cool, desolate vampire feel. For the outfit, I chose a white Lolita dress adorned with abundant lace ruffles, red lace-up ribbons across the chest, and red roses decorating the waist and skirt hem. The overall red-white-black palette fits the theme of 'The Eternally Young Scarlet Moon' beautifully. For the over-the-knee White stockings, I selected a jacquard lace style with subtle textures so leg contours appear more three-dimensional on camera without sheer transparency, perfectly pairing with deep red high heels and platform strap shoes.
The set was dressed with red velvet drapes, a white skeleton, crystal candelabras, and scattered red roses. Prop textures are vital: the white skeleton echoed the dress, while blue-and-white withered leaves in the background added cool-toned depth. Photographer Baimiao was great at finding angles, especially in the seated and side-reclining poses in photos one and two, showcasing the White stockings and leg lines gracefully. Reclining required strong core strength to keep the posture lifted so the skirt looked naturally relaxed. Baimiao offered many suggestions on set, such as utilizing the red curtains for background bokeh. The frontal full-body shot in photo three was more dignified, so it was placed later. Photo four holding the skeleton prop felt more like interacting with the scene, adding an eerie, uncanny flair. Adjusting the skirt and prop placement took considerable effort, as the sheer white tulle easily tangled around my legs, requiring constant center-of-gravity adjustments.
Post-processing was handled by Canxi. Editing for an original setting had to maintain the overarching Gothic style atmosphere without losing fine details, particularly the layered textures of the white dress and White stockings, as well as the moody grading of the red roses. The final captures featured dark-toned red-and-blue contrasts, nicely accentuating the character's enigmatic aura. This styling had specific makeup demands—a fair base yet spirited, expressive eye makeup, tuned to match the post-processing vision.
