Today I brought out this pink-themed styling for Ace Taffy cosplay, giving off an overall vibe of pure sweetness and exquisite craft. In choosing the wig, I specifically picked this peach-pink tone; to make the Pink twin tails look fuller and more voluminous, generous hair volume was added, while braided side plaits were woven in to enrich dimension. Styling this wig took considerable time, particularly teasing and backcombing the twin tails section by section to support that airy, two-dimensional anime silhouette. For makeup, emphasis went into the eye styling and blush, blending wide sweeps of soft pink paired with colored contact lenses to recreate that signature cute aesthetic. The foundation leaned fair with a matte set to prevent unwanted glare under lighting, with blush brushed delicately beneath the eyes and across the nose tip to add an innocent charm.
The wardrobe styling pays intense attention to detail. The top consists of a white pointed-collar shirt layered with an oversized translucent pink ribbon bow, accented at the neckline with a smaller pink bow centered with a green gemstone to elevate the sense of luxury. The metallic gold chains and floral buttons serve as standout highlights, preventing the ensemble from looking flat. Below, an asymmetrical flared skirt primarily in white, yellow, and pink plaid features a high-low cut that perfectly frames the leg lines. The lace trim and chiffon ruffles along the hemline are delightfully airy, flowing organically with every step.
To harmonize with the overall palette, I selected over-the-knee White stockings, which not only elongated leg proportions visually but also echoed the white accents of the skirt. When wearing over-the-knee stockings, slipping is always a major concern, so I secured the tops with anti-slip body tape to ensure they wouldn't slide down during the session. Finishing the look with short white gloves and a dainty white beret-style cap edged in gold brought the Anime-style fashion to full completion. The shoot was staged right in my dressing room at home, using a full-length mirror to record the complete outfit. The clothing rack beside the mirror was lined with diverse dresses; although the background felt somewhat lived-in, this slice-of-life setting brought a delightfully authentic rehearsal charm.
While shooting in this look, my biggest takeaway was the sheer abundance of intricate components, requiring constant micro-adjustments to the positions of the ribbons and chains to keep them at their optimal display angles. In particular, that oversized chest bow would throw off the entire visual balance if tilted even slightly, so I kept fine-tuning it before the glass. For lighting, I relied on soft ambient indoor light to avoid harsh, stark shadows, which beautifully brought out the lace textures and the metallic luster of the chains. Angling the torso slightly or lifting the skirt hem gently produced lovely dynamic movement. Since space in the room was limited, lowering the phone slightly during mirror selfies while shifting my center of gravity backward visually elongated my legs—a handy little trick I've gathered from everyday shoots.
Overall, the color balance of this outfit is immensely pleasing: the yellow-and-pink plaid combined with white lace, set off by the structured edge of metallic chains, sparks a uniquely spirited girlish allure. The costume was fairly comfortable throughout wear, though one must be mindful not to let the metal chains snag the delicate lace. I hope this look offers inspiration for friends who love Anime-style fashion, whether for everyday wear or convention adventures.
