The early spring set of Rem swimsuit photos is finally sorted out. I had been waiting for the perfect lighting before, and choosing to shoot at the beach right when the season just started getting warmer meant the temperature was absolutely perfect—neither too cold nor too hot. For the costume choice this time, I specially picked this blue-and-white striped nautical style cropped set, paired with a yellow bow tie and red Mary Jane shoes. The overall color saturation is very high, but because I used the built-in filters of the Sony a7c II straight out of camera, the refracted light turned out looking exceptionally translucent.
Before the shoot, I actually prepared quite a lot of details, such as the placement of the pink cross hairpin and that blue-and-white swim ring. Many people think inflatable props are a hassle to bring, but at the beach, they really serve as the perfect finishing touch. When sitting down, it can be used as a seat, and when standing up, it becomes the visual core of the entire composition. To capture a natural feel, we didn't set too many mandatory camera positions but instead walked naturally along the slope of the sandy beach. The whole process using the Sony a7c II paired with its eye tracking autofocus was incredibly worry-free; there was almost no need to worry about losing focus, and the skin tones straight out of the camera were already very authentic.
Since I am aiming for a casual and unpretentious vibe, the poses this time avoided deliberate posing as much as possible. Whether it was sitting on the swim ring while hugging my knees or standing up to playfully lift the skirt hem, everything was done spontaneously with the flow. When the wind blew, the coastal clouds softened the light, eliminating harsh shadows, making the facial contours appear very soft in the photos. The pairing of red shoes and white socks is highly eye-catching at the seaside, providing great contrast.
The concept for the entire shoot was "refreshing and everyday," without excessive or complicated embellishments. After all, the beach scenery is naturally vast, and with this swimsuit style inherently carrying sailor elements, the blue and white color scheme blended beautifully with the sky. Although the wind was a bit strong, it actually added an ethereal, flowy touch. It was actually quite chilly on the day of the shoot, but the sea breeze felt wonderful, and seeing the final pictures makes everything completely worth it.
