[Kiryuu Kikyou Cosplay] Blue Archive Summer Beach Swimsuit Special

The summer heat waves make people irresistibly want to run to the seaside, so this time I decisively brought out the swimsuit version of Kiryuu Kikyou for a refreshing beach outdoor shoot. Having always shot her tactical gear and daily outfits, I feel that this relaxed seaside vacation form can instead vividly showcase the character's lazy yet slightly tsundere traits to the fullest during this Anime-style outdoor photoshoot.

To capture this set of photos well, a lot of preparation was done beforehand for this swimsuit photo. Although the character itself has black hair, the wig still needed to be trimmed into a short bob with straight bangs that fits the face shape perfectly, with the ears properly set up. The most eye-catching feature is still the blue halo on her head. This time, lightweight materials were specifically used, and with the help of lighting during the shoot, it achieved the ideal sense of suspension.

For the costume, a dark string bikini was chosen as the base, topped with this pale water-blue lightweight outer garment. The garment features faint geometric star patterns, flowing beautifully when the wind blows. The color combination fits the original character design perfectly, and with the bright blue wristband and dark nail polish, it stands out as both cool and highly recognizable among a crowd of summer-colored outfits.

拍摄当天的阳光非常强烈，原本以为躺在这个白色网绳吊床上会很惬意，但实际上为了寻找一个不硌背又能自然舒展的姿势，我们反复调整了好久。这种视角的构图特别考验对肢体线条的把握，既要显得慵懒随意，又要避免动作僵硬。道具也很有讲究，那颗插着玫粉色吸管的椰子，不仅是画面中提供清凉感的点缀，拿在手里也能让pose变得更生动自然。

The sunlight on the shooting day was incredibly intense. I originally thought lying on this white mesh hammock would be very cozy, but in reality, to find a posture that wouldn't hurt my back and allowed me to stretch naturally, we repeatedly adjusted for quite a while. This perspective's composition heavily tests the control of body lines; it needs to look lazy and casual while avoiding any stiffness in the movements. The props were also highly deliberate—the coconut with a rose-pink straw inserted was not only an embellishment providing a sense of coolness in the frame, but holding it also made the poses more vivid and natural.

The two photos actually convey different emotions. The first one from a front-facing perspective emphasizes a sense of vacation comfort, looking straight into the lens, paired with the action of holding the coconut juice, making the overall frame very relaxed. However, the close-up obtained by swiping left is the true 'essence' that I am most satisfied with—a slight tilt of the head coupled with a playful wink, matched with the fluffy black cat ears and the red lip makeup, instantly maxes out the character's agility and feline attributes. There was no intentional posing when capturing this moment; it was more about capturing a relaxed blink under the intense light, and it felt like the character's true vibe was instantly captured perfectly for this cat-eared girl.

Speaking of which, a swimsuit cosplay actually tests the details of makeup and posture much more than wearing heavy clothing. Under the high intense light of the seaside, the fit of the base makeup and the saturation of the lip color are crucial. Meanwhile, although you are showcasing charm to the lens, you cannot overdo it; you must retain that characteristic casualness and confidence unique to the character.

Although the process of this outdoor shoot left me drenched in sweat due to the hot weather, judging from the final cut's results, it can be said to be a highly worthwhile attempt. The moment the sea breeze blew through the sheer fabric, the cozy feeling of the hammock swaying gently, and that playful winking cat persona all filled this set of photos with summer's vitality. Without relying on complex backgrounds, using only the purest sand, sunlight, and perfectly selected props can make the character's charm flow naturally—this is probably the enchanting part of an Anime-style outdoor photoshoot.
