[Rem Cosplay] Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-: A Blue Silhouette at Nanning Anime Convention

Part of the convention photos from the Nanning Anime Convention Ryōga Fuyunori are finally retouched! This time I cosplayed Rem from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. Although the convention venue was packed, booking a venue studio booth in advance ensured high shooting efficiency. These shots are unretouched raw studio outputs without excessive post-processing, preserving the authentic interplay of light and shadow cast directly by the studio lamps.

Starting with the styling, my favorite aspects were actually the hair and makeup. For this light blue short wig, I intentionally preserved the thickness and curvature of the bangs, paired with the signature white cross hairclips on the left and a light blue headband for instant visual recognition. To fit the character, the makeup focused on straight brows and soft eye makeup; wearing light blue contact lenses made my gaze look bright and clear, keeping the overall makeup clean and fresh.

As for the outfit, this white-and-blue off-the-shoulder dress is rich with details. The white tube top features a blue bow neck piece that flatters the neckline while adding a playful touch. Detached voluminous sleeves made of lightweight fabric, combined with layered light blue ruffles on the cuffs and skirt hem, create an airy motion when moving or posing. For legs, I chose white pantyhose paired with a lace thigh garter on the right leg—a subtle detail that visually elongates lower body proportions. Light blue block-heeled Mary Janes on my feet tie the color palette together with the top outfit.

The shooting environment on site was quite hardcore, with black softboxes and light stands brought in by the photographer visible in the background. Though the location was somewhat cluttered, the photographer brilliantly utilized these background elements. For instance, when shooting seated poses like in Photos 3 and 4, a standard folding high stool became a great prop; adjusting leg placement angles brought out the finer details of the pantyhose and thigh garter.

When cosplaying this character, I focused on capturing her blend of strength and gentleness. Facing the camera, I kept a relaxed demeanor—tilting my head slightly or lifting a hand naturally to portray an effortless, unforced \"cuteness\". The airy dress combined with the cheerful convention vibe allowed me to express myself freely before the lens. Working in sync with photographer \"Rem Jinchūriki @ 初六\" helped capture very natural moments. My love for Rem has never faded, and seeing these results makes all the effort of rushing props and fitting sessions before the convention completely worth it.
