This shoot selected a European retro indoor studio with very soft lighting, which perfectly matches Emilia's elegant temperament. The warm-toned light source featured on the set filtered through the lace curtains, which, paired with the character's own pure white and light purple color palette, felt visually very comfortable and pure.
To recreate the character's silver-white long hair texture, the wig selected is a style with ample hair volume and delicate strands. The braid on top of the head was fixed using real hair braiding techniques combined with hidden wires, ensuring the hairstyle would not easily loosen or deform through a whole day of movements. For the elf ears part, a specialized ear-hook silicone prop was used, which is much sturdier than the traditional adhesive types and not too uncomfortable to wear; it just requires using the shattered hair in front to slightly cover the seamless joint, so the hair layers in the photos were intentionally trimmed.
The details of the dress are actually much more complex than they look from afar. The main bodice portion features a patchwork of white fabric with subtle patterns, and the two rows of purple square decorative buttons in the middle along with the green teardrop-shaped gem at the collar are the finishing touches. Organizing the fluffiness of the coat sleeves and the layers of the purple lace took quite a lot of time, because these separate sleeves are easily stretched out of shape during movements. Therefore, during the shooting process, I had to realign the position of the sleeves before every pose adjustment to ensure that the lines and fabric folds around the neck and shoulders were natural and coordinated.
Out of the two sets of movements, I actually prefer the vibe of Figure 2. When sitting down, one hand is slightly lifted to match the direction of the light, while the other hand naturally drapes down to twist a strand of hair, creating a lightweight, unconstrained breathing feel. Compared to the quieter and more well-behaved posture in Figure 1, Figure 2 can better showcase the character's lively and playful temperament as an anime girl. The white over-the-knee socks on my feet were also completely matched according to the setting, featuring dark striped trim at the top. This combination of socks and a short skirt visually elongates the leg lines very well, making the overall proportions look more slender and upright.
The props in the scene were also carefully selected, including the tall glass bottles on the adjacent table, a mixed bouquet in pink and white tones, and this blue-and-pink decorative mini cake in front of me. These elements make the frame look much richer and add a breath of daily life. When communicating with the photographer on set, we unanimously decided to keep the white plush carpet as a transition for the foreground, which softens the edges of the frame without overshadowing the subject. We were also adjusting the light positions throughout the shoot, because white clothing can easily overexpose, so we needed to control the highlight areas well to preserve the details and textures of the garment as much as possible.
Regarding expression management, I deliberately kept my gaze slightly focused and ethereal, which, paired with a subtle lip color and natural facial contours, kept the overall state from looking artificially cute while still conveying the character's innate gentleness and clarity. The makeup and styling this time were quite translucent overall without using overly heavy eyeshadow, primarily relying on the wig's color and the light purple tones of the costume to build the aura. While organizing these insights, I remembered that afternoon sitting on the sofa adjusting poses, and I feel that the shooting process under this specific outfit itself was a very interesting experience.
