When preparing this look, the part that gave me the most hesitation was choosing material contrasts between red and white. For the red dress, a lustrous satin was intentionally chosen; its drape and reflective qualities under venue natural light or flash lighting yield a very high-end texture. The clash between the fluffy white cape and skirt hem softens the intensity of the red, adding a touch of winter softness to the overall look.

The black-and-white headband topped with arrow hair ornaments serves as the true soul of this attire. Securing this setup required a lot of thought. Paired with the wig and elf ears, small white bells hanging from the headpiece sway subtly with movement, adding dynamic vitality. Red contact lenses also gave my gaze a sharper, more striking presence.

During shooting, I loved the turning-back motion in the first photo. Dark flooring and dim backgrounds inside venue spaces are perfect for lighting focused close-ups; once lights turned on, I instantly immersed into character. The sitting pose on the floor in the second image was also one of my favorite setups, not only displaying the full depth of the red gown and white fur collar, but also revealing details of the Fishnet stockings cosplay paired with black high heels. The relaxed casual feel was captured just right, perfectly matching the playful demeanor of this dress variant.

Cosplaying this character at an anime convention generated a surprisingly high turn-head rate. Many fellow fans called out the character's name on site or ran over for photos; being recognized in those moments brings genuine fulfillment.

Regarding hair and makeup, a long straight silver-white wig was chosen. To give it an agile, breathable feel, the bangs were deliberately trimmed wispy so facial features wouldn't be blocked whether looking down or up. Silicone elf ears offered great fit without feeling stuffy throughout the whole day.

Small costume details—such as back lacing designs and the black choker—proved key for high fidelity. Since venue lighting was mixed, I was very pleased with the photographer's dark-toned background approach focusing squarely on the character. It suppressed background clutter while showcasing costume luster and fabric textures.

There are clever techniques in photography as well: in large convention hall spaces, utilizing floor reflections or background bokeh spots turns ordinary concrete floors into atmospheric foregrounds. Shooting characters like this from a slightly low angle elongates legs while showcasing skirt volume.

Although changing in and out of this outfit wasn't easy, the whole process felt deeply rewarding to capture ideal returned photos. The visual element containing a barcode in the second photo served as a fun post-processing easter egg, blending digital art aesthetics with Anime cosplay style.

Before attending the convention, going from prepping materials to finishing the complete outfit took about two weeks. For the red dress pattern, an asymmetrical skirt hem was chosen so it spreads naturally when sitting—ideal for the second seated pose. The headpiece looks simple but required precise buckles to attach securely to the wig without shaking or obstructing vision, which tested handcrafting skills.

On the day of the IJOY convention, the venue was huge and crowded. I chose a darker area near the edge for shooting. The photographer set a key light and subtle rim lighting to illuminate hair highlights and white fur collar edges, ensuring photos didn't look flat. A major challenge in Convention photos is background crowds, but as long as composition remains focused with half-body or full-body poses placed centrally, attention stays firmly on the character.

For makeup, a pinkish-white base was paired with red eyeshadow and red lips to echo red contact lenses and the red gown, creating a unified color spectrum. As a cosplayer, I deeply enjoy transforming into characters, briefly experiencing another life. Communicating with fellow enthusiasts at conventions—even hearing a casual compliment from passersby—makes a busy day thoroughly meaningful.

Returning home and seeing these two Convention photos made me feel all efforts were worthwhile. The red and white color scheme photographs amazingly under any light, and net details of the stockings remain crisp and clear. Professional photographers truly know how to maximize environments.
