This photo shoot of the entire Foreclosure Task Force from Blue Archive took a considerable amount of time to prepare from inception to implementation, finally bringing this dual-themed photo set of "Abydos Daily Life & Secret Agent Infiltration" to life. As mentioned in the post, a simple swipe to the right lets them instantly put on their mask hoods; this visual transformation from a refreshing school uniform vibe to a mysterious masked squad was the core charm of our project.
We mapped out each member's unique features according to character settings: Shiroko, Hoshino, Serika, Ayane, Nonomi, plus Hifumi who arrived later—completing the classic Abydos roster. For costume selection, matching dark blue blazers paired with white shirts and grey plaid miniskirts formed a highly recognizable school uniform look. However, to prevent the visual effect from feeling monochrome, we put a lot of effort into accessories—such as Shiroko's blue scarf, Hoshino's oversized jacket, and Ayane's red-framed glasses—highlighting each character's personality through subtle differences.
The "mask hood segment" during the shoot deserves special mention. To align with the theme, everyone took turns wearing numbered colorful knitted ski masks as well as that hilariously fun No. 5 cardboard box mask in the indoor setting. The cardboard mask had us laughing so hard on set that we could barely keep shooting, requiring the photographer to repeatedly remind us to manage our expressions. This playful twist on serious elements filled the shooting process with unpredictable comedic charm, becoming the most visually contrasting highlight in the photos.
The shoot spanned three distinct spaces: first, the library scene in Photo 4, where we specifically borrowed a room with wooden bookshelves and long tables, even inviting an "unidentified person" in a black suit wearing a cardboard box drawn with a stick figure face to stand behind us as a background prop, creating an absurd yet story-driven atmosphere. Next, we moved to the modern lounge in Photo 5, where black leather sofas and glass coffee tables beautifully set off the uniform's quality. As seen in the front group shot of Photo 5, the soft lighting effect was outstanding, rendering facial contours and uniform details three-dimensionally. The combination of varied leg stylings alongside white socks and black stockings cosplay elements added fashionable tension to the composition.
Finally, the rooftop outdoor scene in Photo 6 utilized the city skyline and greyish-white sky as a sweeping backdrop, capturing a smooth dynamic motion with aligned walking poses. Standing on the rooftop, with breezes swaying wigs and skirt hems, everyone shed their formal indoor postures to display youthful, energetic vibes.
Looking back at the whole shoot, immense gratitude goes to our photographer and support team who carried heavy gear throughout, helping us adjust camera positions, lighting, and handle various unexpected situations. The collage layout in Photo 3 vividly captured each person's personality and expression after donning the masks. Recreating this classic team attribute from Blue Archive together was deeply fulfilling. Everyone gave their absolute best in makeup, styling, physical effort, and emotional investment for these photos. Looking at the finished shots in the camera now, all the hard work feels completely worth it.
